THE VALDOSTA TIMS 5, SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 7, W08
ANOTHER LINE MAY COME.
People of Mllltown Want a Closer
Connection wltli Valdosta.
(From Tuesday's Dally.)
It Is undentood that the section of
country between Mllltown and some
point on the Georgia and Florida
road, near there, will soon have a
new route to connect with the outside
world and a much closer route to
Valdosta.
It Is aald that the officials of the
Georgia and Florida road have shown
a willingness, or rather a desire, to
reach .Mllltown. It Is also s&ld that
the people of Mllltown are anxious
to get a route away from that place
In another direction to the outside
world. They have a line to Naylor,
hut they feel that It would be much
more advantageous to have another
road.
It Is understood that the Georgia
and Florida road some time ago made
the people there a proposition by
which they would build a branch line
from their main line to Mllltown. The
terms were that the people of Mill
town would put up a certain amount
for the enterprise. Yesterday after
noon a meeting of the dtlsens was
held there and the amount Of money
was practically secured.
The officials of the road will be
notified of Milltown’s action before
long and It Is quite likely that the
work on the branch road will be
undertaken at once. Valdosta will
he very glad to get In closer touch
with Mllltown.
