brothere belonged.
The killing of Hlllsman by his
brother occasioned a good deal of
excitement, and led to a raid on the
"blind tigers" In Unlonvtlle a^d
Phllllpsburg by a party ot Indignant
citizens from Tlfton, In wMch a good
deal of wMakey and beer was de
stroyed, and the "tiger” proprietors
were ordered to leave town.

Department of Agrlouiture to Make
Interesting Showing Soon.
Washington, Not. 2—On Monday!
November 9th, at 11 a. m. (eastern
time) the Burean of Statistics of the
Department of Agriculture will Issue
a crop summary wMch will give the
following information: The produc
tion and quality of corn, buckwheat,
potatoes, tobacco .flax seed, rice; the
percentage of the 1907 oorn crop on
farms November 1st, 1905; the aver
age weight per measured bushel of
the oats crop of this year; production
of apples on percentage basis. At
the same time a review of foreign
crop conditions, as reported by the
European agent of the Bureau of
Statistics, may be available to the
public.
On Tuesday, November 10. at 2 p.
m. a supplemental report will be Is
sued, which will glre a general re
view of crop conditions on Novem
ber 1st, with comparison, and will
include the following items: The
production compared with a full
crop, of grape*, pears, cranberries,
peanuts, Kalfir corn; the average
yield per acre of sorghum sirup;
condition on November 1st, or at
time of harvest of oranges, lemons,
sugar cane, sugar beets, average
yield per acre and quality of sweet
potatoes.
No report on cotton will be issued
in November.
H. P. Smart Left Large Estate.
Savannah, Nov. 3—The will of the
1ate H. P. Smart, the Savannah flnan
cier, who died on ship-board when
nearing Japan the latter part of Sep-
tember, was filed yesterday. It pro
vides that the estate be held Intact,
until 1927. Mrs. Smart Is to enjoy
the estate in trust during her life
time. The estate Is worth about
*800,000.

hundred delegates and visitors are In
the city to take part In the annual
session of the fourth district mission
ary conference of the Episcopal
church. The dolgates represent Mis
sissippi. Tennessee, Louisiana and
several other states.
The conference opens with a pre
liminary service tn St. Andrew,'
church tonight, led by the Rev. Irwin
H. Carroll, of Kyoto, Japan. The
sessions will continue over Wednes
