BAD BLOOD
The moat important part of the human system is the blood. Every mus
cle, nerve, tissue, hone and sinew is dependent on this vital fluid for nour
ishment and strength necessary to maintain them in health and enable each
to perform the different duties nature requires. Even the heart, the very
‘•engine "of life, receives its vigor and motive power from the blood. Since
ao much is dependent on this vital fluid it can very readily 1m seen how
necessary it is to have it pure and uncontaminated if we would enjoy the
blessing of good health. Eau looni is responsible for most of the ailments
ot mankind; when from any cause it becomes infected with impurities,
humors or poisons, disease in some form is sure to follow. Muddy, sallow
complexions, eruptions, pimples, etc., show that the blood is infected with
unhealthy humors which have changed it from a pure. fre:di stream to a
■our, acrid fluid, which forces out its impurities through the pores and
glands of the skin. A very common evidence o( bad blood is soies or ulcers,
which break out on the flesh, often
from a very insignificant bruise or
even scotch or abrasion. If the blood
was pure and healthy the place would
heal at once, hut being loaded with
impurities, which are discharged into'
the wound, irritation and inflamma
tion are set up and the sore continues.
Bad blood is also resjionsible for
Anaemia. Boils, Malaria, etc.; the
weak, polluted circulation cannot fur
nish the nourishment and strength
required to sustain the body, and a
general run-down condition of health
results. S. S. S. is nature’s blood
purifier and tonic; made entirely of
healing, cleansing roots and herbs.
Itgoesdow • into the circulation and removes every particle of impurity,
humor or poison that may he there, restores lost vitality, and steadily tones
up the entire systepi. It adds to the blood the healthful properties it is in
need of, and in every way assists in the cure of disease. S. S. S. neutral
izes any excess of acid in the blood, making it fresh and pure, and perma
nently cures Eczema, Acne, Tetter, and all other skin diseases and eruptions!
8. S. S. cures Rheumatism, Catarrh, Sores and Ulcers, Malaria, and all
other diseases or disordtrs arising from bad blood. Hook on the blood and

. jS'aShvllle, Tenn., Dec. 8.The cases
of Col. Dnnean B. Cooper, Robin
Copper and John D. Sharp, who are
charged with the murder of ex-Unlt-
ed States' Senator Edward W. Car-
marck, were on the docket of the
criminal court for trial today. The
defense desires a continuance until
the January term to give them more
time to prepare for trial. The dis
trict attorney, on the other hand. Is
pressing for an fmmedlate trial. Many
visitors of prominence came to Nash
ville today In anticipation of the
hearing. The trial Itself promises
to be one of the most notable In the
Utter day history of tbe South, ow
ing to tbe fact that tbe feud between
Carmack and the Coopers, which
culminated in the tragedy of Nov
ember 9. Involved many men prom-
laqpt^Jn Tennessee politics.
The plan of the defense has not
been made public, though the pre
vailing opinion la that a plea of self-
defense will be made. This Is in line
with the claim made by the friends
of Cooper that the affair was merely
a atreet duel. In which both sides
met and began firing; that the Coop
era had tried to avoid a meeting with
Mr. Carmack, and that they were on
their way to the State Capitol in re
sponse to a telephone message from
Gov. Patterson when the tragedy oc
curred.
Tne prosecution, on the other hand
will contend that It was a case of
premeditated murder, the result of
conspiracy, pure and simple; that
Mr. Cafmack was waylaid and assas
sinated while he was on his way to
his boarding house; that when he left
his office the fact was telephoned
from a house near-by, and that thus
the Coopers were notified that the
editor was on his way and to be on
th« alert.
