Knight and W. R. Batea, Aldermen

and Church, who have just finishes

ected Aldermen with the bold-ov

being Geo. B. Murrell, J. L. Byrd,
and M. W. Bargeron. The new
Aldermen and Mayor met at tho
regular place of meeting Tuesday

signed to their reapectlve commit
tees. Alderman J. L. Byrd was
chosen at mayor protem, J. Mark
Shaw was elected Treasurer.
The race for mayor and aldermen
promised to be exciting for awhfte,
as there was a lot of talk that an
opposing ticket would be put out,

held, but Monday morning, the pro
posed ticket announced that they
would not enter the race and left

won.
The opposition seemed to arise
from the ticket that was elected;
