It May Be Pneumonia
"A hard chill, pain through the chest, difficult breathing.
Then fever, with great prostration.” If this should
be your experience, send for your doctor. You may
have pneumonia! If your doctor cannot come at once,
give Ayer’s Cherry Pectoral. When he comes, tell him
exactly what you have done. Then do as he says.

SAW CUBA.
Their Experiences on the Island
Given in Letter to The Times.
The following well known cltlxens
have Jiwt returned from an extend
ed trip to Cuba: Messrs. J. E. Corn
to, Marrton Curry and Warren Cor
bett. To aty that these gentlemen
had a delightful time but expreesei
it very mildly. They all apeak in
the highest terms of Cuba and that
It, Is a great and most productive
country can easily be determined by
the folowlng description:
"We left Valdosta for Cuba
January 23rd, to make an Inspection
of the American colony, ■ orange
grove land and to see Cuba In few
eral. We arrived at Jacksonville
via. the G. S. A Fr 1 railroad at 9:13
a. m„ where we were jmned by Dr.
Bunny, the rector of the Episcopal
church of Gainesville, Ga.; Mr. Geo.
Argard. of Atlanta, the president of
the Aurora Company, and Mcsars.
E. D. Arnold of Elberton, Ga, Whit
tington of Atlanta, all enroute for
Cuba and Aurora.
"We left Jacksonville at 3:30
m. on tbe Florida East Coast Rail
road, arriving at Knight’s Key at
7:30 a. m. the morning of the list.
We all arose early to see the won ?
derful work that tho brains and
money of Mr. Flagler had ’achieve!
In building n road through the sea
from Miami to Knight’s Key and it
certainly was worth the trouble.
"We left Knight s Key at 8 o’oloek
on board the P. & O. steamboat
Halifax, arriving In Havana at »<*
o’clock p. m. the same day. After
passing the custom house Inspection
we went to the Colon station where
we checked our baggage and secur
ed our tickets to Aurora over W
United Railway. We there onjoyoo
our first Cuban meal at the Cate
Central, and it waa very good to-
deed, especially the coffee and flslw
We then returned'to the station amt

Between Santa Claro and CrlgO :da

mile of waving fields of sugar cane
that the people assured us had most
all of It been planted to the lift
fow years and In this soctlon of
.Cuba cane docs not have to be re
planted for 20 yeara. At the town
of Jatlbonlco, a place of about 8.000
people, where four years ago was a
wilderness, or rather a forest
thick woods, we saw our first sugar
mill and wore certainly sorry that
did not have tho time to go
through It. After a good breakfast
Clago we continued our Journey,
the first stop of Importance being
the elly of Caewagney. where we ar
rived at one-thirty. We passed
through a good deal of forest an!
saw many pastures of Oulenea grass
and some of the finest cattle In the
world. There can be no doubt that
the Cuban pastures are as line, if
not the finest In the'/OfM- tl!e 8™"*

saw the papaya or melon tree, whlcj,

to A watermelon and in taste to
cantaloupe. We inspected the land
subscribed for by Valdosta people
and found thorn well located.
"The next day we returned
Hotney where we ate dinner in
country hut and to our surprise
found It exceedingly good and well
prepared, some of our party especial,
ly distinguishing themselves. We
went on the three o’clock train to
-Bastle. a Canadian colony and spent
the Test of the afternoon and part ot
the next day looking over that place.
Wa left there about 9 o’clock, going
to Mamgua to visit the property of
Mr. Geo. Hansltt, an old Fltsgorald
hoy, who has grown rich In Cuba
and also to eat a barbecued ptg and
take,, deer hunt. We enjoyed the
plfc'hut only saw two deer and did
not get close enough to them to
shoot, although the day before we
had, while riding on the road, se-n
as many as three gureas at a time
when we had no gun.
"W* returned to iCamagucy that
day and on the next to Havana, stop'
ping for one night at the orange aid
grape-fruit groves of Cefallas, in all
about three thousand acres, from
to ( years old, and we never have
seen any trees of the same age as
welt fruited as the tour and flre-
ycar-old frees, being simply laden
wljji ffrult of fine quality and flavor.
We also talked wltfa several farmer
who were raising pineapples and
found they grow about 10,000 pine
apples to the acre, the larged
weighing about 17 pounds and the
smallest onc4 about 8 pounds, and
they net from three to five hundred
an acre on these.
"Wo arrived in Havana on the
morning of the, 29th and spent the
day sightseeing. We visited first
the Club of 'Dependontes,' which
means salaried men, and there was
not a dissenting voice to the fact
that It was the beat arranged and
most magnificent edifice they had
ever been In. The club has 38.000
members wbo pay 91.80 n month for
Clnb privileges and hospital dues.
