took place at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. A. J. Burkhalter. of their
daughter, Miss Leona Taylor, to Mr.
Jackson J. Willis, on the' evening of
May 26th
At 8 o’clock Miss Nellie Dollar
started the march, and down the
hall on to the porch marched the
flower girl, little Miss Alma Uevlnes,
dressed In white and carrying rose9.
Next came Miss Loleta Rawls and
Mr. Hector Wade, followed by Miss
Agnes Sneller and Mr. B. F. Willis,
Jr.* Messrs. Wade and Wllfls were
both dressed In black, and tKie
young ladies were dressed in white

carried a lobely bouquet of by*

Then came the bride and groom.
The bride was dressed in white

The marriage today of Miss Kan
sas V. Mlley. of Hahlra to Mr. W.
B. McCardel of Valdosta, was an
event of much Interest among a
large circle ot friends and relative,
throughout Lowndes and surround
ing countie*.
The ceremony was performed
about noon at the home ot the
bride's parents Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Mlley of Hahlra, the ceremony being
witnessed by a number^ ot friends
and relatives ot the 'contracting
parties.
The bride Is a most charming
young woman and has many friends
wherever she Is known. The groom
Is a well known young business mmn
of Valdosta and has a large elide

The young couple will leave to
night for Atlanta and other points,
after which they will return to Val

Arrested for Disorderly Conduct.
Charlie Scott and Betty Wilson,
two negroes were arrested by police
officers last night on the charge of
disorderly conduct. It seems that
tho negroes were In a row In froot of
some houses In the southern part
of tho city, when the officers were
notified, and went down and arrest
ed both of them and placed them la
the city prison. The cases will
probably be heard before tho record
