Tbs directors ot the Board ot
Trade held an Important meeting at
the city ball last o%ht, for the
pnrposo of completing and perfect*
tng the arrangements and program
for the appearance of 8trobel‘s Air
Ship bere early next montb. The
work done so far Is of the very best,
and the more the event was dlacnss-
fed, the more firmly convinced were
the directors that It will prove to be
the greatest occasion Valdosta baa
had since the State Fairs held-here.
The airship is something “new
under the sun." Not one person In
,a thousand throughont this section
ever saw one of the' flying machines,
and the phenomenal Interest created
In them by the exploits ot noted
aviators dn every part of the world
during the last few months, and the
columns on columns of publicity
given their feats by the newspapers,
will bring people from a wide scope
ot country to this city.
The directors last night electees
Managing Committee composed of
Veters. W. L. Glessner, B. W. Bent
ley and J. J. Newman, and an Ad
vertising' Committee composed ot
Messrs. W. M. Oliver and W. L.
Glessner. These gentlemen will
have charge of the active work In
eonnshtton with the big event, assis
ted In a general way by tha members
of the Board of Trade and other
loyal Valdostans.
Possibly no occasion Valdosta has
ever yet attempted Is being more
thoroughly advertised. ’lbs lithe-
/ graphed, posters which were receiv
ed several days agyare unusually
handsome specimens ot work, -and
added to them thousands of fliers,
hand tills, envelopes, cards, etc., are
being distributed to-the Best pos
sible Mvnntags. The advertising

of 'bere, and' will probably close the
Initial trip tomorrow. The car went
from here to Thomasvllle,
through Moultrie to Tlfton, thi

thd return. As soon as this trip
Is completed the ear will take on
another lot of advertising matter and
start out to the south, east and west.
In addition to the publicity which
Is being given the occasion by the
use Of posters, etc., a dozen of the
best newspapers In Southern Geor
gia and northern Florida, are this
week carrying halt page advertise
ments and splendid "write-ops’* of
the 9cession.
The Teporta which are already
coming In from the towns through
ont this territory, Indicate that great
crowds are coming to Valdosta to
see'the airship and the other attrac
tions which the committee are ar
ranging for. It Is probable that the
managing committee will supple
ment the airship with a number of
really high-class attractions, nothing
ot the cheap or fake show character,
but something really worth going
a long way to sec. They propose to
do the thing up Just right, and not
single effort will he left undone
to this end.
The airship will make three
flights each day, one In the morning,
one In the afternoon and one at
night. The first flight will be made
on Tuesday, November 9th, and each
day thereafter until Saturday night
Hr. Strobel and hts flying machine
and men come to Valdosta from Ba-s
vannah, where tt>ey make Worst
flights during the visit ot President
Taft to that city.
The people ars coming, and they
are coming by the thonsands.every
day. The committees who are look
ing after the occasion are arranging
to entertain the visitors In. the very
bast manner,-but at the same time
give them as mnch time as they -heed
for the transaction of business, to
do their shopping, etc. -
