Savannah Woman Pulled a
Derringer to Prevent Having
Beauty Spoiled.
Savannah, Ga., Jan. 25.—In police

Schwarz Investigated a most inter
esting case against Mrs. J. M. 01
sen, who had been placed under ar
rest tor asault with Intent to mur
der her husband. Mrs. Olsen has
nerer been Incarcerated because of
her alleged crime but was released
In the custody of her attorney Im
mediately after her arrest.
She Is charged with firing a shot
at her husband on Sunday after
noon late on Barnard street near
Perry because she Is alleged to have
heard that he Intended throwing
some deadly acid In her face to dis-
figure her for life. Olsen and his
wife have been separated for some
time and ho has tbo two children to
care for. On Sunday afternoon af
ter ibelng at Sunday School with
them he mot Mr*. Olsen talking to
a gentleman on< the street. He pass
ed and told her she ought to be at
Sunday School with her children
Instead of talking to a man on the
street.
He then passed on but was later
caught by Mrs. Olsen, who said
something to him about wishing to
disflguro her with acid, and drew a
derringer from the folds of her
dress. Mr. Olsen, who wns with n
friend, got behind him as a protec
tion and he says Mrs. Olsen called
to the friend to get out of the way
no she could kill her husband. Ol
sen ran down Perry street and his
wife shot at him. The bullot front
the derringer passed uncomfortably
close to the cheek of A. H. Blshing,
a dairyman who was delivering milk
nosrby and lodged In the aide of a
bouse.
Olsen sought refuge In the house
until his wife had disappeared. Mrs.
Olsen collapsed after the ahooting
and was arrested at her home. The

bigamy. Moore, who has been in

Savannah had deserted him, swallow

gave him an emetic and saved his
life.
