Itmei A. Oomartle Disappeared
From Hotel In November.

Cromartle, of Soparton, Ga„ who
disappeared from the hotel at Ham
let, N. C., November 9, last, wan
found this afternoon In a swamp
three mile* from Hamlet by hunters.

and how long he has been dead have
not been ascertained.
Cromartle waa on bit way to visit
relatives In Baldwin county, North
Carolina, and stopped over here to
change cars. He disappeared dur
ing the night, and though his three
sons scoured this aectlon for a month
no trace of his movement* could bo
found.
Identification was fully establish
ed by a relative. Searchers had
passed within 10 feet* of his body.
The report several weeks ago
that Cromartle had been found In
the woods In a demented condition
near Ellenboro later developed to
have been a case of mistaken Iden
tity.
Undertakers Fought Over Corpse.

dertakers fighting like tigers for pos

One undertaker, Joshua Simmons,

EXPLOSION AWAKES TOWN.
The Ochlocknee Postofflre Was
Robbed of $200 Yesterday.
The postoffice at Ochlocknee,
Thomas county, was entered by
burglars early Tuesday morning
and the safe was blown open and
robbed of $200.
After midnight the 'town was
startled by the noise of an explo
sion coming from the poatofflee.
Men hurried to the scene to find
the safe In the office a complete
wreck, as It had been blown open
with nitroglycerine.
The flrsf-comera reached there
only ten minutes after the explo
sion occurred, hut the burglars had
flown. In cash, $40 was taken and
the balance In stamps.
No trace could be found of the
robbers. The sheriff went over at an

Secretary H. Sidney Jones, of the
Georgia Stato Sanitarium, haa Just
completed his compilation of figures
on the Insane of Georgia for the
past 20 years, and they are quite
Interesting. The statistics Bhow
there is an Increase being register
ed nearly every year. j
In 1S90 the ratio of Insanity was
to each- 1,012 of population,
the beginning of the present century
the ratio In Georgia was 1 to each
809 of population, and In 1910 It
climbed to 1 in every 826 of popula
tion.
At the present time there are
3,372 patients at the State Sanita
rium and It Is from these Inmates
that the ratio Is figured.
