Children of Strikers to be
Carried to Washington

WERE KEPT RUBY.
Lawrence, Man., Feb. 13.—A
thousand children from the homes
of the strikers are being prepared to
bo taken to New York, Philadelphia
and Washington by committees con-
■nocted with the Industrial Workers
of the World department.
They will be taken to Washing
ton and paraded through the nails
of the capltol.
More soup kitchens were opened
for the strikers.
Many who returned to work hare
now gone back to the strikers,
As the temperature moderates the
ranks of the strikers seem stronger
than for sereral days.
Rioting broke out again at noon
at various points, as though con
certed attacks. On Union street a
mob of girl strikers attacked the
militia, who pushed them with the
butts of their guna
i/. dozen Italians attacked the
soldiers on Union street. The sol
diers clubbed their guns and sereral
. strikers were badly hurt.
At the Atlantic' mills, strike
■ breakers stabbed a striker, Samuel
4 dams, who was trying to make the
. strike' breakers quit work.

Dr. E .W. Daniel, a brother of Dr.
Ererett Daniel, of Moultrie, died In
Atlanta Sunday morning about eight
o'clock, after an Illness of a short
time. Th e deceased formerly lived
at Boston and for some time traveled
lm*thts territory. His remains were
carried to.Boston for buriat and the
funeral occurred Monday. A num
ber of friends of the family went
down from Moultrie to attend the
funeral services.

A Pioneer Berrien Citizen Died This
Morning.
Telegrams received by relatives
here today announced the death of
Mi. R. K. Turner at Nashville, Qa„
bit death occurring shortly alter 10
o’clock. He suffered for many years
from cancer, his condition rapidly
growing worse during the past tlz
months.
Mr. Turner lived In Berrien coun
ty for probably fifty years and en.
Joyed the friendship and esteem of
practically every citizen of the
county who knew him. Re had been
honored with various offices, having
served the county as tax collector,
and the town of Nashville as pos*-
master several terms, realglnlng the
latter office some months ago on ac
count of .III health.
The deceased was an unde of Mr.
B. L. Turner, of Valdosta. He
loaves a wife and several children.

NEGRO BOASTED OF WEALTH.

McRae, Ga., Feb. 13.—Saturday
night a negro was hanging around a
street carnival here, boasting of hav
ing $200 In hit pocket. Later ha was
decoyed to the cemetery by two ne

bed and left for dead.
He came to, however, and one of
the negroea was caught Saturday
night, and the other one was arrest
ed Sunday afternoon at Scotland. It
was learned that Instead of $300 the
