A Brooks county man came to Val
dosta yesterday with a wagop load of
bacon which he Readily sold in this
city at good prices. He stated that
he cleared $15 by coming to tho Val
dosta market. Ho engaged another
load which he Is to dellvor hero next

COLQUITT COURT ADJOURNED.
I)ude Mosely Gets a Life Sentence on
Murder Charge.
Late yesterday afternoon Judge
Thomas adjourned superior court af
ter one of the longest sessions ever
before held in the county, court hav
ing convened nearly four weeks ago.
Both dockets contained a large num- j
ber of important cases, but the civil j
docket was unusually heavy, there I
having been transferred from ttoej
city court a large amount of busi
ness. And the first three week* was
used In disposing of the civil cases.
Under the hew regime four terms
Of superior court will f>e held during
the yekr. Instead of two, as has beeu
the case heretofore^ and npw since
the ’ docket ! has been etaaxrt it is
thought' that things yrny move
smoothly under the. n«w rule,
The Jury trying the case against
W. H. Allison brought In a verdict
yesterday afternoon, finding him
guilty of stabbing without lawful
cause. He was sentenced by Judge
Thomas to twelve months on the
gang or to pay a fine of $150
Dude Mosely, the negro wtoo was
found guilty of -murder In the first
degree. *with a recommendation to
mercy, was given a life sentence in
the penitentiary. Mosely shot and
killed a negro by the name of John
Bennet, at a dance hall in this city
during the month of January.
Bryant Harmon, another Moultrie
negro, waa found guilty of selling
whisky and was fined $800 or to
help build roads for twelve months.
Harmon was said to have been one
of the oldest and shrewdest blind
tigers In town. He was caught last
fall by Chief William*.
A number of other sentences were
passed by Judge Thomas for mlsde-
