Fire Alarm Yesterday Afternoon
A fire alarm wag turned in yester
day afternoon between two and thre©
o’clock, the fire being at tb© real-
dence of Mr. F. B. Rivera, on the
corner of Savannah avenue and
Troup street. The fire caught from
•parks and was burning briskly when
the big auto truck of the fire depart
ment reached the ecen© with the
chemical apparatus and the firemen
soon bad the fire under control.
About one hundred shingles were
burned.
Th© fir© was burning at a lively
late and if there had 'been any de
lay on the part of the firemen they
would have had a hard fire to cope
with.
Governor Brown haa referred the
