Acts trhich originated in the Senate.
An act to lay out a new division of Georgia
militia, out of the second brigade of the ninth
division.
An act to pardon William Pearson, of Pike
county.
An act ta add parts of the counties of Haber
sham and Ilall to the county of Cherokee, and
to divide the said county of Cherokee into ten
counties, and to provide for the organization of
the same.
An act to deiine the rights and liabilities of
.informers who may return fraudulent draws in
the Land and Gold Lotteries.
An act to alter and anteud an act passed on
the 23d of December, 1831—regulating the
road laws of this state so far as respects the
county of Camden.
An act to legalize and make valid the acts of
Marmaduke Gresham, clerk of the superior
court of Stewart.
An act to incorporate the Burke county so-
ci.'d library company.

•out the saic fund, and collect all and any of said

An act to repeal an act, entitled an act, to
authorize John Bailey and Robert Collins of
the county of Bibb, to make and construct a
causeway and turnpike on their own land thro’
the Tobasofkce swamp, and to charge and re
ceive toll at the same, and to annul an order of
the inferior court of the county aforesaid, es
tablishing a toll bridge over the Tobasofkee
creek on the road leading from the town of Ma
con to Perry in the county of Houston, with
certain privileges, ^passed 26th of Dec. 2831,and
to require the supi rintendam of the western di
vision to do certain work with the public hands.
An art to compel tiie clerk of the inferior
court of the county of Henry, to advertise all
cstray horses or mules which may be regularly
tolled in said county, in some public gazette
published in the town of Milledgcville.
An act to give master masons and master
carpenters, a lien on buildings erected by them
in the county of Houston, upon certain condi
tions.
An act to require all children who reside
within the city of Savannah, and within two
italics of the same, who are entitled to the ben
efit of the poor sellout fund, to be educated at
the free schools of Savannah, and to authorise
the justices of the inferior court of Chatham
county, to pay to the directresses of the free
school of Savannah, such portion of the poor
sdhool fund as under the laws now in force,
would bo applied to the education of such chil
dren within said limits.

Crawford, Stewart, Wayne, Fayette, Decatur
and Carroll, and for other purposes.

land, tax collector for the county of Bryan for

of Camden county.
An act to repeal the 7th, 8th and 9th sections
of an act to prevent the exercise ‘ of assumed
and arbitrary power by all persons under pre
text ofauthority fronlthe Cherokee Indians and
their laws, and to prevent white persons from
residing within that part of the chartered limits
of Georgia occupied by the Cherokee Indians,
and to provide a yuard for the protection of the
gold mines, and to enforce the laws of this state
within the aforesaid territory

lots in the town of Decatur, to the use of the
Baptist and Presbyterian societies, on which to
erect houses for public worship, and also to au
thorise the said justices to make titles to a cer
tain parcel of ground already laid out and in
closed as a burial ground, and appoint commis
sioners for tho same.
An act to repeal so much of an act passed
21st December, 1829, as authorises the com
missioners of roads of Chatham county, to con
vene as a board but once in a year.
An act to provide for the call of a Conven
tion, to redr.tfe the number of the General As
sembly of the State of Georgia, and for other
purposes therein mentioned.
An act to protect the Cherokee Indians in
the peaceable and quiet possession of their lands
secured to them by the existing laws of the state,
and also to secure their persons and property
from illegal violation.
An act to make permanent the water line for
certain wharves in the city of Savannah, to lay
out a street between Indian streqt and said wa
ter line, and to appoint commissioners for car
rying the same into effect.
An act to repeal so much of an act to regu
late slaves and free persons of color, in the
towns of Clinton and Macon, as relates to the
town of Macon.
An act to alter and change the time of hold
ing the Superior Courts in the Southern Circuit,
so far as relates to the county of 'Twiggs.
An act to alter and amend an act to estab
lish three additional election districts in the
county of Troup, passed the 22d December,

okee to the County of Campbell.
An act for the relief of Roger McCarthy.
An act to amend an net “to amend the seve
ral laws of force regulating the pilotage of ves
sels to and from the ports and harbours of this
State, and more distinctly to define the powers
and jurisdiction: of the Commissioners of pilot
age for the several ports and harbours thereof,”
passed December 23d,1830, and to vest certain
powers in said Commissioners of pilotage.
An act to organize a Volunteer Company of
cavalry to be known and incorporated under
the name of the Fayette county Dragoons.
An act more effectually to secure the solven
cy of all the banking institutions in this state.
An act to amend and consolidate the several
acts for the incorporation of the town of Macon,
and to extend the jurisdictional limits on the
east side of the Ocmulgee river, and for other
purposes therein mentioned.
An act to appoint three additional Commis
sioners for Broad and Savannah rivers, and for
other purposes.
An act to alter and amend the 2d section of
an act “to alter and amend the several acts
passed to prevent obstructions to the free pas
sage of fish in the Ocmulgee river and its bran
ches, passed in the years 1821, 1824, and 1829,
also for the better regulation of fishing withseins
in the said river and its branches.
An act to alter the 9th section of the 3d ar
ticle of the Constitution, respecting divorces.
An act to amend that part of the 1st section
of the appropriation net of1795, which requires
a fee of 2o.cents on head right grants of land un
der 500 acres, and 75 cents on allgrants over
500 acres, to the secretaries of the executive
office.
An act to prevent any Teacher from receiv
ing payment out of the poor school fund of cer
tain counties, unless such Teacher shall have
been examined and found qualified.
An act to establish an infirmary for the re
lief and protection of aged and afflicted-negroes
in the state of Georgia.
An act to regulate slaves and free persons of
color in the counties of Richmond andllancock.
An act for the organization of a mayor’s
court in the town of Columbus, and for other
purposes therein specified.

and Jefferson counties to advertise their Sales
for said counties,, in one of the papers printed

rior Court of Warren county, to provide for and
establish an Asylum for tho invalid poor of said

poor school fund, so far as respects the county
of Crawford, passed the 27th December, 1831,
1 and to pvovide for'the payment of debts due

An act to authorise a certain class of persons,
who were' entitled to a draw or draws in the
Gold and Land Lotteries, under the provisions
of the several acts passed 22d December, 1830,
and 24th December, 1831, but who have failed,
neglected or omitted to give in their names, or
v.’hose nam n s, though given in, are not placed
in the wheels of the Gold and Land Lotteries,
hereafter to give iti tho same, and make valid
certain draws of heads of families, and for oilier
purposes.
An act to appropriate money to meet the va
rious expenses of the Land and Gold Lotteries,
and to pay the arrearages of surveying the
Land and Gold region in Cherokee county, and
to fix the compensation of the lottery Commis
sioners, Clerks, Boys and Door keepers em
ployed by them.
An act to repeal an act entitled an act “to a-
bolish Penitentiary imprisonment in this State,
except in certain cases, to change the inode of
punishment for crimes and misdemeanors, and
for other purposes,” passed 24th December,
1831.
An act to alter and amend an act passed the
22d of Dec. 1328, so far as respects the poor
school fund for the county of Montgomery.

Resolved, That tlte Declaration of the President
of the United States, in his said Proclamation,
of his personal feelings, and relations, towards the
state of South Carolina, is rather an appeal to the
loya.'ty of subjects than to the patriotism ol citizens
and is a blending of official and individual charac
ter heretpfosc unknown in onr state papers, and re
volting iq our conceptions of pdlitical propriety.
Resolved, That the undisguised indulgence of
personal hostility, in the said proclamation, would
be unworthy the animadversion of thio Let islature,
but for the solemn and official form of the instrum
