GOLD AND LAND MAPS.
ffhVV'ING to the delay of some of the survey
ors i" making their returns, and the con
sequent delay that has, unavoidably attended the
publication of the Gold Maps of'Cherokee, I
have concluded to reduce the price of them from
10 to G Dollars. The Gold Map is divided into
3 parts, hud the prices of the three comprisin
all the Gold Districts, with tho exception of the
11th in the 1st section, which has not yet been
returned, will hereafter be six dollars—or §2,50
each. 1 have also now preparing, which will be
completed in a few weeks a Chart representin
all the Qaulities of, and improvements on, every
Lot oa my land Map, winch’,'-together with the
Map, will be sold for §5. All persous who have
purchased, niid all who may hereafter purchase
the Land Map, shall receive a list of the qualities
gratis, as soon as completed.

summer, can at any time have the Slaps, to which

"STN pursuance of an aet of the last Legislature
JL of the State bf Georgia, I have been appoint
ed by the Governor receiver of the assets of the
BANK OF MAGON. Having so recently en
tered upon the disrhargeof the duties I am requi
red to perform, I know very little of what the
result will ultimately he; of one thing, however,
I desire the puhlic to be fully, satisfied, that noth
ing shall be wanting on my part to bring the
whole business to as just and speedy a termination
as possiblo.
Persons holding bills upon the Bank of Macon,
would do well to deposit them iu some one of the
Banks of this place as early as practicable.

YN ACT to provide for the call of a convention
to reduce the number ol the Gcueral Assembly
of the stale of Georgia, and for other purposes
therein named.

esentetives of the state of Georgia in General 4s-
mbly met, and it is hereby enacted by the author-
-;/ of the same, That the first Monday in April,
ightcen hundred and thirty three, be, and the
une is hereby designated aud set apart as the
ay on which ih« citizens of Georgia qualifi-
d to vote for the members of the Legislature,
hall, at the several . places prescribed by law
or holding such elections vote for delegates to
represent them iu in convention, iu number equal
io their representation in both brauthes of the ge
neral Assembly ; such elections to he conducted,
.Managed and certified under the same laws as are
f force in respect to elections of members of the
General Assembly.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted. That it shall
he the duty of such managers to transmit to bis
Excellency the Governor, the result of said elec
tions under the laws now of force for conducting,
managing and certifying election's of members of
the- General Assembly as aforesaid, within thirty
days after such elections—Whereupon it is made
the duty of his Excellency the Governor to issue
his proclamation declaring the result of said elec
tions by naming the individuals severally elected
to represent the good people of Georgia iu con
vention as contemplated in this act.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted. That every
citizen of the United States shall be eligible to a
seat in said convention who has attained the age
of twenty five years, and been an inhabitant of
this state seven years immediately preceding the
day of his election, aud who shall have resided one
year in the county for winch he shall he elected.
Sec. 4. And be it further enacted, That each
member returned as duly eloetjed., shall previous
to taking his scat in said convention, take the fol
lowing- oath, or affirmation, viz. I, A. B. do sol
emnly swear, that I will not attempt to add to,
or take from the constitution or attempt to change
or alter any other section, clause or article of the
constitution of the State of Georgia, other than
those touching the representation in the General
Assembly thereof; and that 1 have been a citizen
of this state for the last seven years, so help me
God. Aud any person elected to a seat in said
convention, who shall refuse to take the oath a-
foresaid, shall not be allow ed to take his seat in
said convention.
See. 5. AnJ be It further'enacted, That the
members of said convention shall assemble on
tho first Monday iu May after their electiou, at
Ylillcdgoville, in the Representative Chamber of
the State House, for the purpose of entering uj>
on aud consummating the great objects of their
convention, to wit; a reduction and equalization
of the General 'Assembly; shall have power to
prescribe iheir own rules aud forms of business,
aud ^determine on the qualifications of their own
members; elect necessary officers, aud make all
orders which they may deem conducive, to the
furtherance of the object for which.such conven
tion shall assembler'* '
Sec. G. And be it further enacted, Thatitshall
bo the duty of his Excellency td*» Governor to
give publicity to the alterations and amendments
made in the constitution iu reference to'th'D'di
rcctiou [reduction] of the number of tlfe members
Composing the General Assembly, and the first
Monday iu October next, after the rising of Un
said convention, he shall fix on for the ratification,
by the people, of such amendments, alterations,
or new articles as they may make for the objects
of reduction and equalization of the General As
sembly only; and if ratified by a majority of the
voters who vote on the question of “Ratification”
or “No Ratification,” then and iu that event, the
a]terations so by them made aud ratified, shall be
binding ou the people aud uot other,vi-e.
Sec. 7. And be it further enacted, Thatitshall
be a fundamental article iu the formation or a-
mendmput ofxbe constitution, that each count}
of tho state now organized or laid out, or which
may hereafter be created b'y law, shall be enti
tled to at least oue representative in the represen
tative branch of the General Assembly.
Sec. 8. And be it further enacted. That so
soon as this act shall have bscomc a law, his Ex
cellency the Governor, be, aud is hereby required
to cause it to be published iu the Gazettes of this
state, once a week until the day fixed on by thi-
act fer the election Of-delegates to said conven
tion; and that; all law-s and parts of laws milita
ting against thi3 act, be, anti the same arc hereby
