Smith’s new Brick Machine, invented by Calvin Wa
terman, no*.y iu operation in this place, lake-pleasure
in recommending it totlie public. The fact of its per
formance is its best rtcommcndatisn \\ e tinted it. and
find that with new moulds and inexperienced hands, it
made at the late of Two Thousand Three Hundred
and Sixty-Eight Bricks per hour. By moulding ten.,
hours in the day it ivoqIc therefore turn out 1 w^nty-
three thousand and six hundred per day. It requires

I have witnessed the performance of JMr. Tlieod-
iick L Smith’s new Brick Risking Machine, just,put
into operation in this place, aud leel uo hesitation in
pronouncing it agreatend useful improvement on any
other method of Brick making^ have cv-j seen- both
as to the quality of the Brick and expedition in ma
king. By request I timed fee machine for half an
hour The result of that trial shows that with 14
hands die machine will turn oftt of beautiful and tnit
tempered Brick, 2368 in one hour, or about 40 to the
