NAL has proved the existence of literary talent and e_
terprise in the South which fears no rivals.
I The friends of Sonthcrn literature have often declared
that, coaid they get a Southern paper which, in point of
intrinsic merit and in price, could compete with North
ern weeklies, they would cheerfully eupport it. We offer
I this desideratum; we ask these promises to be redeem
ed. We ask a comparison with other papers of its class,
and are satisfied that the SOUTHERN FAMILY JOUB-
