“squeezing.”
Our enterprising neighbor, Mr. .Toe

of working roads, that we all would
do well to follow. Cal] on him and

will astonish the natives.
It is not “agin the law” to pay the

By request Dr. Breaker will deliver
his discourse on "The Unity of the ■
Christian Church,” at Homer, next
Sunday at 3 o’clock p. m. There is
but one opinion among those who
have beard this sermon, and that is
that it is one of the Doctor’s very
best. Let no one miss the chance of
hearing it.
We invite attention to the card of Dr.
Jfeeaker. In addition to a thorough
ImWical education, the Doctor has the
advantage of twenty years experience.
He has already made a fine reputation
- a*-aphysician in this community; and '
although he ’has sought to avoid the <
| practice of medicine while teaching, |
his practice has grown steadily all I
the time. In a few days he will be ;
clear of his school, and will devote
himself entirely to his.profession.
Death of a Little Child.
On last Thursday night, death en
tered the peaceful home of «our. neigh
bor. Mr. W. P-. Carter, and folded in
bis icy embrace the latest horn, a
lovely boy, scarce two years old. and
bore the precious lamb beyond the
stream which all in time must cross;
and the parents sat in the gloom of
; the darkest night they ever experi
enced. mourning the loss of their
darling. The next evening the fam
ily, joined by numerous sympathiz
ing friends, followed the remains in
solemn procession to the church,
where appropriate services were
held. And then, after a long linger
ing look at the sleeping angel, they
laid the little form in its last resting '
place, in hope of a glorious resurrec
tion.
We extend to the bereaved and
j stricken parents our heartfelt sympa
thy in their great affliction.
