We felt rich for two minutes and a

We advise the reader who lias not

we advance the price from Si to 81.50.
The advance in the price of paper,
nearly fifty per cent, will leave us no
alternative but to increase our price.
Take advantage of the opportunity.
We arc requested by Dr. Breaker

The Dora Bloom Minstrels played

ever return to Bcllton, they will be
greeted with crowded houses. We
heartily commend them to the public.
Temperance Lecture.
lion. 1). C. Oliver, Stale lecturer of
the I. O. G. T., will address the people
of Bellton, at the Methodist church,
to-morrow night. He has been doing
hard work in Middle Georgia, this win- [
te.r, assisting in driving whisky out of,
the small towns. He can’t come to a
place where his services are more
needed than this place. Here, in this
small town, we have one school house
nnd two bar-rooms. One place for
educating and elevating children, and
two dens of hell for degrading and
ruining them. Let us come out on
the right side and rid our town of this
disgrace. Let us show the world that
as a people we respect good morals
and sobriety. When we have suc
ceeded in this good work, we can,
invite straugers to locate among us;
can offer them pure water, pure air,
and, what is infinitely better, a pure
moral atmosphere in which to rear
their children. But with what grave *
can we do this now? How can we'
have the face to ask a man to bring
bis family here, when these dens are !
blenching forth the fumes of hell, [
poisoning the whole moral ntmos-!
phere? Let us drive the monster'
from our midst, before he number i
[among his victims the tender boys;
'anil girl* that arc now growing up in !
i our midst/—before he sucks the. life- i
i blood of our town. No man can
;afford to be neutral on this subject.
!It is one that involves stupendous
.interest. Give Mr. Oliver a crowd—
jgive the cause your full, hearty sup
port. If all will do their duty, the
day will not be distant when Bellion
■ will have washed her hands of this
! filth.
' Mr. Oliver will address the people
of Mavsvillc. Saturday night.

The invention of that Superior ami
Complete Sewing Machine (the Fam
ily Shuttle Machine), marks one of
thyjnost important eras in the history
of m;u-hinery, and when we consider
its great usefulness and extremely
low price (825), it is very difficult to
conceive of any invention for domes
tic use of more or even equal impor
tance to families. It has great ca
pacity for work; beautiful, smooth,
and quiet movement, rapid execution,
certainty of operation, and delightful
ease, that at once commends it above
all others. The working parts are all
steel; the bobbins hold 100 yards of
thread: the stitch is the firmest, of all
the stitches made, neat and regular,
and can be regulated in a moment to
sew stitches from an inch in length
on coarse material down to the finest,
so infinitesimal as to be hardly dis
cernable with the. naked eye, ami
with a rapidity rendering it impossi
ble to count them as fast as made ; it
does to perfection all kinds of heavy,
coarse, plain, fine, or fancy needle
work with ease, and far less labor
than required on other machines. It
needs 110 commendation, the rapid
sales, increasing demand, and volun
tary encomiums from the press, and
the thousands of families who use
them, amply testify to their undoubt
ed worth as a standard and reliable
household necessity, extending its
popularity each day. Agents wanted
