The Nome el “Mother.”
Thereon words that speek of a queaclilen
love,
W hich barns in the hearts we cherish,
And aeeoanu that tell of a ftreuddup proved,
That wig never blight or perish.
There ore soft words murmured by dear, dear
lips.
For richer than any ether,
But the sweetest word that the ear both heard
Is the blessed name of Mother.
Oh, magical word! may it never die
From the lips that love to speak it.
Nor melt sway from the treating hearts
That ever would bleak to keep it.
Was there ever a name that lived like this!
Will there ever be such another!
The angels have reared in Heaven a shrine
For tue holy name of “Mother.”

Caution to Our Citizens.

large quantity of spurious, highly-in-
flaiuahle and explosive oil being sold
throughout tlie country as kerosene
oil. You can scarcely pick up a
newspaper without seeing an account
of some accident whilst has occurred

much of this class of oil in our own
market, and it behooves our city au
thorities to see to it thnt the follow-
ing ordinances are strictly eulorced;
Much precaution may save great dams
age both to individuals and the com
munity at large:

stood or will not stand the test oi

§ 290. Any merchant, trader, or
other person who having given boud
shall violate, evade, or attempt to
evade the provisions of section 289,
