As the Era piedicted several
weeks ago the telegraphers strike
would end unfavorable to them
and their cause, even so it has
come. The attitude of the orga
nization just at this time is in
deed disagreeably unpleasant.
There is net unity enough in
any labor organization, or in fine,
of any secret organization that
undertakes to control its labor,
etc., to warrant it in arraying
itself against organized capital,
Wa well remember the efforts of
the old printers union to dictate
terms to publishers in Atlanta
and other cities fifteen years ago.
Sometimes there would be a clash
of arms, generally, however, the
cause of the union was sustained.
They used to scare up the old In
telligencer every few days; but
finally, when through the flush of
easy victories, and a little more
arognnee than discretion; they
bucked against more capital, or
ganized at Hi at, the union- fell to
pieces, and asked for terms, or
made such concessions as to vir-
tua ly abandon their position.
