Burnt Hickory Notes.
Our literary schools are vorv
goo l indeed. We have from 80
to 40 in attendance at the Burnt
Hickory school, and our neigh-
boting school is also prosperous.
Our schools arc cjiiductod by
young men, and they inform us
that they are proud that their lot
was cast iu this vicinity. Times
are very good on the ridge ikm’ |
We are engaged now in tho fon
der pulling and Billing business,
have had nice weather for such.
Our public roads have just been
worked well. Tho crop outlook
is much better than has belt
heretofore expected. Ouv neigh

of terms, now and tliofi’ one or
two will kick out of the harness.
Well, let them go, they are wild
