Elder P. Paul Smith announces
in the Christian Index thus:
I have started on my third tour
among the churches. It would be
fur more congenial to thu feelings
of my aged heart to remain at my
humble, quiet home during these
wintry storms, hut I am fully con
vinced that there arc some weak
saints in the Baptist brotherhood
scattered among the churches, and
it is needful that 1 find them and
smite them faithfully. The re
ports come to mo that there are
church-disturbers in our ranks, and
they cause much strife and wrang
ling in their respective churches,
and 1 cannot rest in peace while

Zion Some of them arc
Baptist deacons, some are in tire
“rank and file,” and not a few are
among the sisters.
We would most heartily invite
Elder Smith, when his benevolent
work is done among thu Baptist
to come over into our Mtlio-
dist temple and scourge out ull
snarly, surly, wrangling growling
members ; hut we fear that by the,
time lie gets through with tire
Buptists, his whip will be worn
out, or his power to use it exhaus
ted. Better than Wait for Elder
Smith, will not some stalwart
Methodist arm himself and go out
on a war of extermination against
all church disturfiers? Wlmt use
has the Church or the world for a
grouder, any way ?—W csleyan Ad
