The question is too important to

Years of satisfaction or of regret
come with a piano. Does it wear
well? The WING Piano does.

“You know that during Sarah
Bernhardt's recent tower through
the south she had a mania for hun
ting,” said Phil Greenwnll, of Fort
Worth, Tex., at the Lindull. “She
played in my house at Fort Worth
She got into town on Sunday
morning, and as she had nothing
to do until Monduy night I sug
gested that she take her gun and
go out in tho country for a spin.
The suggestion delighted her, but
the only kind of game she wanted
was buffalo. 1 told Georgo Loving
a'cattleman, of the actress' thirst
for Buffalo blood, and though of
course there are none within 1,070
milos of Fort Worth, Loving de
clared that he would improvise a
buffalo for tho divine Sarah’s ben-
efit. I accompanied her and Ab
bey to a prairie twelve miles west
of town, where, by appointment,
1 met Loving and tho buffalo.
“Loving had scared up a little
woolly bull with short crumpled
horns, and when the Frenchwoman
aw the hideous animal which had
been whipped into fury by Loving's
quirt when he «aw us coming, I
thought she would go wild. Th*
bull bellowed, pawed the earth,
and throwing his tail straight into
the air turned from us and fled.
Abbey stood transfixed and Bern*
hordt screaming like a maniac.
“Finally she recovered herself
sufficiently to take aim and blaze
away at the supposed buffalo.
The bull fell to his haunches with
a bullet through his carcass, and
then we all took a shot at him un
til ho was dead. Some member of
the company was mean auough to
tell Mine Bernhardt how we had
fooled her with the common bulb
that there were no buffalo in Tex
as at all and she was so disappoint,
ed that she bust iulo a flood ef
tears. Wa all felt so bad about it
that we didn't allow the papers to
write it up, but it is too good to
keep longer,”—St. Louis Globe
Democrat.

CHAPTER NO. 4.
Yes, after Alfonzo Joqucs and
his crowd of “free hooters” bad
robbod Uncle Sam of all bis earthly
posaessions, Uncle Sam resumed
his march for Sacramento, howev
er meeting with obstacles on tho
way almost porpotually; lie had
not left Joquc* and his crowd but
a few paces it seemed 'till the
‘Red Devils,” the Indians, “hold
hiw up,” demanding every tiling in
the world he possessed, of value.
He told tho crowd that he had
been dispossessed of every thing ho
had, all of which they did not bo-
lieve, of course. They had him
gagged an,d tried to force him to
tell all about his misfortunes, but
Uncle Sam pretended not to know
the parties who had robbod him,
and stated to them a certain Mex
ican named Alfonzo Joques had
boat him in a duel and won every
thing he bad, and h id kindly and
liberally contributed means for
him to como busk home to Geor
gia, and that a short distance back
some parties had robbed him of
that, and that he was now travel
ing in the hope of mooting with
some charitableJdisposed fiend who
would help him on tho way. Un
cle Sam was completely surprised
looking around, after hearing a
fine voice command him to take
his teeth out, Uncle Sam behold
Alfonzo Joques, Uncle Sam said
i Joqnes: “My friend how can
pull my own teeth? Joques said
“I can pull them for you,” and ad
vanced for tho purpose, Uncle Sam
begin to beg, hntjbegging did not
prevail, when all at onco Undo
Sam walloped his teeth out in Jo
ques hand; the plutos into which
the teeth were sot was worth about
ten dollars; after this cruel piece of
robbery Uncle Sam was allowed to
proceed; all of a sudden Unde Sam
bo gin to soliloquize. He said,
what an awful fix 1 ain in, noth
ing to cat, nothing to buy anything
to eat with, and nothing to eat
itli, and too 1 am cut off from
civilization, besid s Alfenzo Jo
ques will haunt me to my grave,
sould not be surprised to find him
in Sacramento when I g.*t thero,
but night overtook Uncle Sam, and
after eating some nuts, roots and
barks lie crawled under a scrubby
bush for a night's “snoose.” More
about Uncle Sam.
Ex-Exi,
A gentleman, under forty years of
of age, whose hair was radidly
becoming thin and gray, began the
use of Ayer’s Hair Vigor, and in six
months his hair was lestored to iti
natural color, and even more than its
former growth and richness.
Two debating sodetses met ovor
beyond New Hope last Saturday
night and spoke against each other
p in the question which had beeu
the greatest evil wargor wb'stey,
and until midnight the evils th j
world from the two great caus-s
founded forth from the brain of
tho coming young men. At last
the conclusion wai r ached that
war with the rmike of cannons
and the burning of powder had
been the most destructive to tho
world of man kind.
It is conjectured that a specific may
yet be found for every ill that flesh is
heir to. However this may be, cer
tainly the best specific yet found for
iiseases of the blood is is Ayer’s Sar-
laparilla, and most diseases origin a'a
