DIED—At Matutizaa, Mr SamuelClmut,late
of toe house of Scarbrough c> Chirk of this city.
I bis gentleman recently went from Sa-knuab,
to make a share in a respectable commercial
house in Cuba, and it is a source' of sincere re
gret to his friends, that those high hopes of
golden prospects, which elated him, should have
boen so suddenly cut off by the fell Destroyer.
lie died as he had lived, not only respected
and beloved by those who knew him, but with
out a single enemy. ... .
His tile was maifced by an even and contented
disposition, by u rigid and tenacious adherence
to justice, by a fli-hi and inflexible conscientious;
ness, and by the constant practice of all those
principles of' rectitude, which morality incul
cates, and which give to an individual a high
rank in the estimation of the world.
To all who regret his lost, it is gratifying to
reflect, that his deportment on earth was such,
as to warrant the conviction that he uow enjovs
Heaven.
