any freo wliite citizen of Savannah and
Hamlets thereof. >

Slate nf Georgia at tho last Annual Meet
ing thereof enacted that tlie amount of tlie
poll tax for tlie said Cily and Hainleis
should not exegfid ono dollar. •
lit.it therefore Ordhinei, hy me Mayor
and Aldermen of the City of Savannah and
Hamlets thereof, in Council Assembled,
That the amount of Poll Tax for .1820 and
annually thereafter on any free, white in
habitant of said city and hamlets aforesaid
shall not exceed one dollar exclusive nf
costs prnvjded returns aro made'as pre
scribed by Ordinance.
§2 .He it further (Irdianed by the authori
