CONGRESS SPRING OR SARATO
GA WATERS.
T IIF.RK is perhaps scarcely un indi
vidifnl in the United Slntes, who is
not acquainted, either by experience nr
report, with the salutary effects of the
Congress Spring Waters at Saratoga
From thirty to filty thousand |(ersons an
nually visit these Sprints, many from the
remotest sections uf the Unite;) States, and
some from the West Indlist indyilher for
eign places. The great expense In visiting
the Springs excludes the greater portion o '
the community, (more than nine out of
ten.) ami the bottled water, from its high
price, prevents its use to the extent of hie
ing surviceable, -end confines it to a small
number; it appears to be n serious tvi 1
that so valuable an article should be so res
tricted, that comparatively few sliould.be
able to enjoy what is so conduct ve to gerv
eral health in the hot weather iof our sntn
nier months. From these nircmmtanr os,
Geo. \V. Carpenter is pleased to announce
the preparation of Iho above powders, con
taining till the essential substances with
which theseeclehr-ited .Springs are impreg
nated, and fmm which die waters of the
Congress Springs at Sdrato>>a niu precise
ly ami etfectnallv imiiaiodj Willi a view
to accommodate the public, and to bring
into general use so convenient and valuu '
hie n substitute for ihese waters, lid has
been indented to go very extensively into
the manufacture of dicing to put them at a
price to he within the reach of mqjiC per
sons. For tho accomninrilfiqfi of the pub
lic, agents will he appointed f in all tho .ci
ties and principal inland towns to give V
general circulation to so useful an arucle
throughout the country. The public are
recommended to make trial of tlieso pow
ders, as he finds by experience, and from
dm opinion of the most eminent of the fa
culty, that the water inado from them pos
sesses the same medicinal qualities, is ns
effectual in its operations, and precise in
taste, as thnt taken immediately from the
Springs. These powders arc therefore re
commended as ii vuluabl remedy ill ail
cases where the Saratoga Waters are pre
scribed.
Persons on sea voVnaes, or residing at a
distance from the springs, and in wain)
climates, will r«t once perceive the great
advantage of making use of these powdefs
which besides being more portable, and
less expensive than the bottled water, itill
keep without, injury for any length of time,
ns they are equal in medical effect to that
taken fresh from the springs, they tfro Cer~
tainly much preferable from die many ad
vantages they possess.
07* These powders are siipefiof tn the
Seidlitz, inasmuch as they are equrflly a
perient and agreeable, at t[}0 same time
possessing tonic and chnlyb'hgtVqualities in
a superior degree, and afro consequently
better adapted to weak end. debilitated
constitutions than 1 any other cathartic in
use.
Printed dir.octionftf will accompany the
powders. ’ ; .
