CARPENTER’S
Saratoga Powders,
FDR SISKIXU
CONGRESS S HR ING OR SA RA TO
GA WATERS.
T HERE is perhaps scarcely nn indi
vidual in the United Stales, wild is
not acquainted, either by experience or
report, with the salutary effects of the
Congress Spring Waters at Saratoga
From thirty to fitly thousand persons an
nnally visit these Springs, .many from the
remotest sections of the United States, and
somo from the West Indies, and other lor
eign places. The great expense in visiting
the Springs excludes the greater portion nf
the community,’(more than nine out of
ten,) and the bottled water, from its high
irico, prevents its use to tlio extent of bo-
ngserviceable, and confines it to a small
number; it nppenrs to be n serious evil
that so valuable nn article should bo so res
tricted, that comparatively few should he
able to enjoy what is so conducive to gen
eral health in the hot weather of our sum
mer months. From these circumstances;
Geo. W. Carpenter is pleased to announce
tlio preparation of the above powders, con
taining all the essential substances svith
which these celebrated Springs arc impreg
nated, nnd Horn which the waters of tho
Congress Springs at Saratoga mo precise-
iy nnd effectually imitated. Willi a view
to accommodate the public, and to bring
into general uso so convenient nnd valua
ble a substitute for these waters, ho hns
been induced to go very extensively Into
tho manufacture of them, to put them at a
price to bo within the roach of most per
sons. For the accommodation of the pub
lic, agents will bo appointed in all tho ci-
ties and principal inland 'owns to give a
-general circulation to so useful an article
throughout tlio country.--The public aro
recommended to make trial of these pow
ders, as he finds by experience, end from
tlte opinion of the most eminent of the fa
culty, that tho water made from them pos
sesses the same medicinal qualities, is ns
effectual in its operations, and preoise in
taste, as thnt taken immediately from the
Springs. These powders are therefore re
commended as a voluabl • remedy in all
cases where the Saratoga Waters aro pre
scribed.
Persons on sea voyages, or residing at a
distance from tlio springs, and in warm
climates, will at once perceive tho great
advantage of making use of these powdors.
which besides being more portable, and
less.expensive than tlte bottlod water, will
keep without injury for any length of time,
as they are equal in medical effect to that
taken fresh from tho springs, tltev are cer
tainly much preferable from the many ad
vantages they possess.
(0?” These powders are superior to the
Seidlitz, inasmuch as they are equally a
perient and agreeable, at the same time
possessing tonic and chalybeate qualities in
a superior degree, and are consequently
better adapted to t*eak and debilitated
constitutions than any other cathartic in
use. ■ ,
Printed directions will accompany the
powders, ... n
Manulactured nnd for sale, only, by Geo.
W. Carpenter, and eold by appointment
