CONGRESS STRING OR SARATO
GA HATERS.
T llF.RF.ds perhaps seaiobly alt indi
vidual in the United States, who is
not acquainted, cither by experience or
report, with the salutary effects of the
Congress Spring Waters at. Saratoga.
.Frtnii ililrly in fitly thousand persons an
nually visit tluisD Springs, many, from the
remotest sections nf the Uditcd States, and
some front the West Indies, and other for
eign places. The groat expense in visiting
life Springs excludes the greater portion of
tho emmmmilys (more than nine out of
ten.) and the honied water, from its high
price, prevents its. use to tlto extent uf be-
ing serviceable, mid confines it to n small
number; it appears to lie a serious evil
that so valuable an article should he so res
tricted, that comparatively- few should be
able to enjoy w.hat is so conducive tu gen
eral health in the hot Weather of our sum
mer months. From these circumstances.
Geo, IV. Car pouter is pleased to announce
the preparation of the above powders, con
taining all the essential substances pith
which these celebrated Springs are impreg
nated, nnd from which the waters of .she
Congress Springs at Saratoga ate precise
ly and effectually imitated- Willi a vim,
to accommodate the public, and to bring
iiitogenerafiue to convenient and vaiua
blc a substitute for itifso waters, -lib lias
been induced to go very extensively into
the manufacture of them, to put them at a
price la he within the reach of molt per
sons. For the accommodation of the pub
lic, agon's " ill lie appointed in all the ci
ties and principal inland towns to givo a
general circulation to so useful an ttrticle
throughout tho country. The public are
recommended to make tria) of these pow
ders, as lie finds Iiy experience, and from
tlie opinion of the most eminent of the fa
culty; that tlio water made from them pos
sesses the same medicinal qualities,, is as
effectual in its operations, nnd precise in
taste, as that takcii immediately from the
Springs. 'These powders are therefore re
commended as a' valuable remedy .in all
cases where tho Saratoga Waters are pre
scribed.
Persons on sea voynges, or residing at a
distance from the springs, and in watni
climates, will r.t once perceive the gieat
advantage of making usq of these powders,
which besides being more portable, amt
less expensive than tire Lot tied water, will
keep without injury for any length of time,
as they are equal in medical effect' to that
taken fresh from the .springs, thev are cer
tainly much preferable front the litany ad
vantages iMy possess.
(jy* Those powders are stiporior to'tho
Seidlitz, inasmuch ns they.areEqually a-
pcricnl and agreeable, at tho same time
possessing tonic and ohnlybeate.qkalities in
a superior degree, and *ro feoincqiiently
