Oilol Black Pepper. (Precipitated.) a
powerful stimulant and vnlunblo remedy in
typhus lever, also as an external.stimulant
united with Decoction of Cantharidcs in
Spirit of Tqrpentlno.—Caution. An oil
of black pepper may lje found in the mar
ket, obtained by distillation—Ibis is by no
means the same as the article abovodeicr).

grains of quinine, will greatly increase the
powers of this remedy.
Extract of Quinine. This is tlio resid

is of course much cheaper to the practition
er titan the sulphate.
Citratcd Kali, for extemporaneously
making the saline draught. Ouo drachm
of this salt dissolved in four ounce* of *«•
tor instantly forms the neutral mixture, e
quat and similar in every respect to that
made from fresh lemon juice.
Black Oxide nf Mercury, loi extern no-
ranrouslv forming ihe blue pill. Olio-
fourth of a giniu equal to four gialns of
blue mass.
Solidified Balsam Cnpaiva. This pre
paration contains the Oil and Resin, and
is rendered solid for tlio convenience of
forming into pills. This artlclo contains
all Ihe virtues of the Cnpaiva in a concen
trated degree.
