Potter’s Eye-Water.
T HE numerous and distressing case
of inveterate ophthalmia which had
resitted the usual modes of treatment, that
daily fell qnder the notice of the proprietor
of tbe Catliolicon, among the patients who
thronged hit office in pursuit of the latter
medicine, induced him to deroto much
timo Sc .-mention to the various phenome

exquisite of nil organs, tho eye.
Ophthalmia, or inflammation of the
eyes, ia found to exist in aery different de
grees. It sometime* occupies only a por
tion of tho globe, bnt frequently eateoda
itaelf oxer the whole. To deacribe either
the anatomy ofthe parts or the .Various

ness felt. The cautei of Inis diaeato are
various, but from long Ittention to the sub-

has been received, ov a foreign body for

producing a total alteration nf its atruc.

on the first intimation of it* approach—-
Exleneitt Experience enables me to re
commend Potter’s Eye-water for that
rurpoae, which, if properly used, will out
ail to cure Iho most inveterate ophthal
mia, either symptomatic or idiopathic.
Dealing solely in facte, and demanding
only such a character for Ibis new colly-
rium as upon Mol it may bo round to poa-
seas, the proprietor bega le ivo to assure
those who may be troubled with this un
pleasant, and, if neglected, dangerous
complaint, that Potter’* Eye water is a
■•fit and certain remedy.
It produces oo unpleasant sensation
whilst applying it to the eyes, but on the
contrary, ia a moot cooling balm and ac
ceptable restorer. Not a particle of any
mineral substance uhaltttrenter* into its
composition; hence it it decidecly prefer

In removing a defluxion of aharp and
vitiated humour* consequent upon cer
tain diseases, tbit eottyriass acts with de
cisive efficacy. Four or five applications
will strengthen recent eases of weak vyea
produced by particles ofdost, etc. blown
into tbo eye* by strong winds, reading or
tewing by candle light—in fact, (or any
incommodity of vision that ia not caused
