Liverpool was stronger today than
for thirty days paBt. Sales of 12,000
at 9 points advance is an indication
of what we may expect later.
Europe seems to realize spinners
are at the mercy of the planter.
INSTANTANEOUS EXECUTIONS.
Miss Giles again repeated her esti
mate of 9,400,000 maximum, and added
"this has been the fastest ginned and
fastest marketed crop ever known.”

NEW YORI< COTTON LETTER.
Dolly by Private Wire to Clerk & Go.
Now York, Jan. 4.—The Now York
speculators today are paying the pen
alty of the attempt to make a price
for another man'v property. The ag
gressive bear sentiment which devel
oped yesterday and the day before is
resulting in a general covering of
shorts, ai^d strange to say Liverpool
has added something to 'the strength
of the market. Spinners yesterday
manifested some interest and asked
for offerings but today there is no
apparent inclination to follow the raar-
kot. The market of this week Is con
firmatory o: the position which we
took in the middle of December, that
Is, that for the time being indications
were for variations of 30 to 50 points,
that, would afford oportunities ' for
traders who aro willing to take profits,
always however, preferring to buy
the market when it is weakest. There
is nothing yet apparent to justify the
expectation that the report of the
8h, that can be construed a^ bearish,
bat should the market continue to ad
vance It Is likely to afford an opportun
ity for the liquidation of profitable
long contracts.
During the last 24 hours, we have
boon in receipt, of a large number of
telegrams from friends In whom we
have the greatest confidence and we
think that the feature of the. ginning
since early December hns been the
light, halos which later on might prove
to be an important factor in the total
supply.

Nothing will cure indlgsection that
doesn’t digest the food itself, and give

that a weak stomach will regain Its
strength and get well when It is
