COUNCIL TOiCONSIDER*^
C0MMISSI0N’S|REQUEST
A WOMAN TO BE PRETTY
No Matter What Color.
The finest contour of a female face, the
aweetest smile of a female mouth, loses
something if the head Is crowned with
scant hair. Scant and falling hair, it Je
now known, Is caused by a parasite that,
burrows Into the scalp to the root of the
hair, where it saps the vitality. The lit
tle white scales the germ ^throws up in
burrowing are called dandruff. To euro
dandruff permanently, then, and to stop
falling hair, that germ must be killed.
Newbro's, Horplclde, an entirely new re
sult of the chemical laboratory, destroys
the dandruff germ, and, of bourse, stops
the falling hair, and prevents baldness.
Sold by leading druggists. Send 10c. in

To Increase -Police Force at Regular
Meeting on Monday Night,
At the next meeting of the City
Council, which will be held on Mon
day night, the resolution of the Board
of police commissioners will be pre
sented asking that *be present force of
the city he Increased by the addition
of at least one man.
It Is not known wljat the action of
the council will Hi, Should It prove
to be the opinion of the body that the
financial condition Is such as to war
rant the increased expense which
compliance with the petition would
entail, there is lFtle doubt that the
request will he complied with, and at
least one patrolman added to the pres
ent force.
Members of the Police Commission
assert that the necessity for Increas
ing the present force ip imperative,
and cannot be much longer ignored.
The recent rapid increase of popula
tion and the takina in of more terri
tory make conditions such that the
present force is insufficient.
The council will also consider the
matter of furnishing side arms to
members of the force, as requested
by the Police Commission.

Grip Quickly Knocked Out.
“Some weeks ago during the severe
winter weather both my wife and
myself contracted severe colds which
speedily developed into the worst
kind of la grippe with all its misera
ble symptoms,” says Mr. J. S, Egle-
ston, of Haple Landing, Iowa. “Knees
and joints aching, musdles sore, head
stopped «P. eyes and nose running,
with alternate spells of chills and
fever. We began using Chamberlain’s
Cough Remedy, aiding the same with
a dose of Chamberlain’s Stomach and
Liver Tablets, and by its liberal use
