•Mr. Jacob
S. Collins, former clerk of the city
court, and Judge T. M. Norwood are
the latest to engage In a correspond
ence duel in connection with the politi
cal affairs of Chatham county. Mr.
Collins, so far, has the last card to his
credit, but It-Is expected that Judge
Norwood will come back at him In a
few days.
The trouble- all f.tailed by Mr. Col
lins stating In a political speech that
Judge Norwood has neglected his du
ties as judge of the city court. His
Honor eagle 'back at Mr. Collins, call
ing for details, and the latter has
given them to him. He joints out the
number of days Judge Norwood has
been absent from the city and the con
sequent failure to hold fcourt, and says
that the judge has neglected his du
ties. ft Is expected that Judge Nor
wood will reply to Mr. Collins In a
few days, ft is believed his supply
