was disappointing when the American
rings opened and thlB loss In values
was generally attributed to some heavy
selling on the part to Egyptian Inter
ests, but In sympathy with the
strength of Cls-Atlantlc markets, val
ues were restored, closing unchanged
to an advance of one point over Satur
day. Spot sales were 12,000 bales, the
old quotation standard.
Prices were unatfetced on the open
ing of the local market by any weak
ness abroad and showed rather a good
advance on account of the large though
scattered support from the outside,
which, however, soon subsided and a
consequent steadier market ruled,
Harvie Jordan Is lecturing In Texas,
but paused long enough to write a cir
cular imploring “the boys” to hold
their spots for 376.00 per hale.
