New Orleans, April 2.—The extreme
quietness prevailing in the Cis-Atlan-
tic markets is exerting a dulling influ
ence on the foreign market as well.
Options there were five to six pointB
lower than Saturday’s close, while
spot transactions of 14,000 bales at 3
points decline continue to reflect the
excellent demand in trade centers.
Cables intimated that some short sell-
ing, coupled with liquidation, were the
affecting circumstances in the depres
sion of values.
Futures in the local market were
lower, apparently for no other reason
than the continued apathy of outside
speculation and consequent absence of
