STATE COMMITTEE
TO MEET APRIL 30.
Chairman Yeomans Has Issued Call
for that Date.
League are again reminded of the im
portant meeting of that body called
for tomorrow evening at the city hall.
As stated in Friday's Herald, this
will be one of the most important
meetings the League hue yet held, ns
numerous matters In which the com
munity cannot fall to be deeply Inter
ested will come up for consideration.
Chief among these will be the ques
tion of Trade Days ir. Albany. This
project has been outlined In The Her
ald, nnd It Is gratifying to note that
the merchants of the city arc much In
terested. Those who lave been ai>-
pronched on the subject have prom
ised their ucttve cooperation, and
many others have voluntarily stated
to Secretary Betjeman, of the Busi
ness League, that they will lend every
reasonable nssltnnce li furthering the
plans that were outlined in these col
umns about a week ago.
The subject of Trade Days will,
therefore, claim a considerable share
of attention at the meeting of the
League tomorrow evening, and some
deflntte action will be taken in/the
matter.
There will be numerous other im
portant matters to come before the
meeting. The subject of manufac
tures will be discussed, as there are
several promising projects in sight. A
report will he made lty Secretary Bet
jeman of what has already been ac
complished l by the League, and of
what It Is hoped to accomplish in the
near future.
It Is the desire of the officers of
the League that all thn business men
of the communltj attend the meeting,
and It Is hoped that .there will be no
disappointment
The hour of the meeting is 8 o’clock,

Atlanta, Ga., April 9.—April 30 is tha
date and the Kimball House is the place
selected for the meeting of the State
Democratic Executive Committee which
will set the day for holding the pri
mary in Georgia to nominate a candi
date for Governor. The call for this
meeting has just been issued by Chair
man Yeomans. At this meeting the
committemen will prescribe the rules
to govern the primary. In addition to
the candidates for governor the follow
ing state officers will also be voted for:
Judges, solicitors-general, U. S. sena
tors and other state officers. Mr. Yeo
mans says that it was his original in
tention to call the meeting for April
21, but after consulting with other
members of the committee he found
that April 30 would be more acceptable
to the majority of his colleagues. The
last state Democratic Convention rec
ommended that the state primary be
held not earlier than July 10. It seems
to be the consensus of opinion that the
committee will fix a date for the pri
mary in August, probably about the
first of that month.
