Was Perfectly Bald When He Started
to Use Newbro’a Herpldde .
Frederick Manuell, Maryland Mock,
Butte, Montana, bought a bottle of New-
bro’a Herplclde, April t, ’59, and began to
use It for entire baldness. The hair fol
licles In his scalp were not dead and In
13 days he had hair all over his head.
On July 2 he writes, "and today my hair
Is as thick and luxuriant pa any one
could wish.” Newbro's Herplclde works
on an old. principle and with a new dis
covery—destroy the cause and you re
move the effect. Herplclde destroys the
germ that causes dandruff, falling hair,
and finally baldness, so that with the
cause gone the effect cannot remain.
Stops falling, hair at once and a new.
growth starts. Sold by leading
druggists. Send 10c. In stamps for sample

A prominent local politician and
man of Influence In the county, after
looking over the list of the Hoke
Smith Club which was recently pub
lished In The Herald, chuckled—being
himself not a Smith man—as he said:
"Why, they’ve got every blankety-
blank Jonah In the county!" And then,
nulling over the list, he called out sev
eral names and chuckled again.
“Yes. sir, they've got ’em all—every
blankety-blank political Jonah in the
county.” And then, calling over thrue
or four names, he continued: "Who
ever heard of one of them fellows be
ing right in politics or being on the
winning side?"

ment of the visiting military organiza
tions on Governor’s and Military Day
of Chautauqua.
In the past the people of Albany
have been generous in extending sub
stantial aid to the Guards in the en
tertainment of their guests, and it Is
not doubted that liberal response will
be made In the present Instance.
Canvassing committees represent
ing the company will during the next
few days call upon those who are sup
posed to be willing to make donations.
Money or provisions—hams, breads,
pickles, butter, crackers, coffee, sugar,
etc., will he acceptable.
It is quite an undertaking to enter
tain a large number of men as they
are entertained by the Guards every
Military Day. Some of the visiting
companies are In the city for parts of
two days, and many of the men have
to he provided with shelter, besides
being fed. The visitors have to be
met at the depot and escorted to the
trains when they leave, and all their
wants while In the city must be looked
after.
It Is probable that the Enterprise
warehouse, on the corner of Jackson
and Commerce streets, will he utilized
next Wednesday for the entertainment
of the militiamen. Large tables will
be erected, the ground covered with
sawdust, and the necessary arrange
ments for preparing food for the hun
dreds who will bring their appetites
with them.
That all will be looked after In the
most satisfactory manner is not
doubted, for that Is a way the Guards
have.
In the meantime, when the canvass-
lng committees begin work, be pre
pared to respond liberally,
Mohammedan Sect..
Mohammedans divide themselves Into
two principal sects—Shiah and Sunni,
the Persians representing the bulk of
the former, the Turks of the latter.
The chief points ou which they differ
are the condition of the soul after
death and the succession of caliphs.
“The Sunni belief Is that there Is oue
Immortal God, whose works are with
out beginning or eud, and that he will
ho visible to tile souls of the blessed,
while the Shiahs deny the Immortality
tit the bouI and maintain that the co
existent principles of Zoroaster will
forever contend for the mastery.”
With regard to the prophet’s succes
sors, the Sunnis claim that the lawful
successor of Mohammed was Abu
Bekr and after him Omar, Osman and
All, nephew and son-in-law of Moham
med. The Shiahs, however, reject the
first three und hold that All was the
only legitimate successor. Shiahs pray
but three times a day and enjoin pil
grimages to Nejef, Kerlwln, Iiazlmaln,
Meshed (Persia), Samara and Kum as
well as to Meqca and Medina. Sunnis
make pilgrimages only to the two lat
ter cities and pray five times a day.
From this It can be readily understood
that the circumstances of the Turks
being in possession of the shrines of
Nejef (Meshed AH), Kazlmaln and Ker-
beln Is most displeasing to devout
Shiahs.—Blackwood’s Magazine.
Stay With It.
The first day mother sent me to
school I went home at recess, thinking
school was out. As I have grown older
I find that a whole lot of people did the
same thing, and the sad part of the af
fair Is that too many of us never went
back. In life be careful that yon don’t
go home at recess. If you start to learn
a trade or profession, stay by It and
master It Don’t chase away at recess.
If you have a business, attend to it.
Don’t go home at recess. This going
home at recess has sent many a busi
ness man Into bankruptcy. It has
caused mothers’ tears to flow and
mother hearts to ache. It has made
crosty old bachelors end sour old maids.
It has filled worlds with Ignorance and
made barren deserts of fertile plains.
Going home at recess means that you
have fallen asleep at the switch and
yoqr train has plunged Into the ditch.
Always stay until school Is out—Os
borne County (Kan.) Farmer.
