NEW YORK COTTON LETTER.
(By Wire to.Clark & Co.)
New York, May 31.—Today’s market
carries Its own explanation; Defeated
In an attempt to deceive the public,
the manipulators have In part hedged
their Bpot and new crop holdings by
sales of July. It haB long been evident
that this was the logical operation
and has been deferred with the hope
that some development would favor a
selling basis, but the drift of events
has been against the hope.
Liverpool has been a liberal buyer
of July to close straddle operations,
and there has been some covering by
a few shorts, but this position seems
destined to a more reasonable compar
ative value. Naturally the liquidation
is centered In the positions which are
technically the weakest, and while the
crop news favors lower prices for Oc
tober and December, we can hardly
expect as rapid a decline ns In the
overvalued contracts.

Liverpool cables: “Decline In con
sequence of disappointed hopes of the
bulls on account of Price being out.
The weather forecast is for fair
weather over the entire belt, with the
exception of eastern Texas, where
scattered showers and thunder storms
are predicted for today and tomorrow.
What was left of the July longs
seems to have been shaken out this
morning.
The short interest in the new crop
months is too large to permit them to
decline very much.
At one time today May and July
; were quoted at even.

If anyone has any doubt as to the
virtue of Foley’s Kidney Cure, they
need only to refer to Mr. Alvin H.
Stlmpson, of Willlmantlc, Conn., who,
after almost losing hope of recovery,
on account of the failure of so many
' remedies, finally tried Foley’s Kidney
Cure, which he says was “just the
thing” for him, as four bottles cured
him completely. He Is now entirely
well and free from all the suffering In
