team. Almost swamped, caved In,
down and out, seemingly, they get to
gether and dig for the cash, and get
it, and save the situation. Amerlcus
has a good team and deserves a rich
harvest of many victories, especially
after the recent hard luck streak she
has had to experience. Here's how,
Amerlcus!
THE BEST ADVICE
Columbus Landed the Game
With Ease — Machinists
Beat the Trailers, and Va
grants Gave the Kids a
Dose.
And Columbus, the biggest town In
the circuit, couldn’t support a winning
team! Have the Columbus sports
such a case of the swell-head that they
could not work up any Interest In a
league In which every other city was
smaller than Columbus? Some people
ascribe the rank Indifference to base
ball In the Chattahoochee City to such
a feeling. Perhaps, If Columbus had
shown itselC to be a sporting town by
liberally supporting a team In the
Georgia State League, there might
have been a place made for her in the
South Atlantic next season. Why, If
Albany only had Columbus' size,
coupled with the local sporting en
thusiasm, an Albany team would be
winning the pennant fn the Southern
League about next year.
is always the right kind of advice.

From American Spectator.
Justice Brewer, of the United States
Supreme Court, In lecturing to his law
class at the George Washington Uni
versity, told the following story In
the course of his remarks:
• “I knew of a case once where two
darkles swapped mules. One of them
was an old hand at the business and
In making the trade he represented his
mule to be seven years old, and told of
many good traits the animal had not.
This was In February. About two
months later the other darky began
to realize he had been victimized In
the bargain, and that the beast waa
fully twelve years old. So he decided
to go back and tell the swindler he
had lied to him about the animal.
However, owing to Its being the busy
season for farming, he was not able
to ( go until about the middle of June
He finally did go, and told his man
what he thought of his rascally mis
representations about the mule.
“You say,” said the other fellow,
“dat when you got de mule In Febru
ary He was seven years old, and now
It’s June and he’s twelve years old?”
’ "Yes, I do!’’ was the angry response.
“Well, sah, time sure do fly.’’
