The Liverpool market was undoubt
edly Influenced by the very satisfac
tory visible supply statement for op
tions on the cloBe netted an advance

of spot cotton were higher by 7 points,
6,000 bales having changed hands.
The statistical position of the pres
ent crop continues to show with each
succeeding week a most satisfactory
progress. The American visible has
decreased 30,000 bales over the corre-'
spondlng week last year and 79,000
bales over the same time In 1904,
while spinners’ takings, the real Index
to the healthiness of the cotton trade,
are placed at 193,000 bales of Ameri
can for the week, against 218,000 last
year, and only 87,000 the year before.
These figures appear favorable
enough, but, however bullish Informa
tion Is regarding the present crop as
long as supplies are ample, diametric
ally opposite may be considered Influ
ences applicable to the new for there
