Planters’ Bank, praying the appointment of a
Receiver of the assets of said Bank, for the pur
pose set forth in said petition on file :

as such Receiver, he first giving bond and securi
ty, to be approved by the Clerk, in the suin of
Thirty Thousand Dollars, payable tv the Clerk of
this Com t. and his successors in office, for the
faithful discharge of his duty in said oflice.

called Bill Black. VVILLIAM left me about 25th
December last; he is a very bright mulato, about
5 feet 10 inches high, thick set, full faced, small
red or rather blood-shotten eyes, and straight yel
lowish hair. I have ho doubt he will change his
name and try to pass himself for a white man,
which he may be able to do unless to a close
observer. He was formerly the property of M.
Myers of this place, and travelled with him
through the up country last summer. The above :

WHEREAS it ha* been binding on me for
three orfotir years to take up all slaves
and tree peisons of colour who are living in th<
Dist., or iu the village of Sparta contrary to the
law that was passed in Dec. 1832, for their regn
hilums and 1 having been put to much trouble
about them, and not getting pay for my labor, am.
it doing no good, lam done with it. But, be ii
known to the citizens of the Ib2d district
M. that 1 shall take a shorter way to pat a stop to j
it. The law is very pointed, that any white per
son oflending against the provisions of this act. be
indicted and prosecuted before the Superior court
for any such offence, andon conviction thereof
shall forfeit and pay a fine of fifty dollars, and all
cost of said suit, now if the owncis, guardians ami
mauagersof such, will read the law, they will find
they are uoti.s friendly to their country as they
think they are. They were friendly enough with
me once, t<j employ an attorney to drive me and
other constables into our duty, ia bringing their
slaves before the courts for trial ; and have they
ever paid us our costs ! No ! neither de they ever
intend if they can help it, but 1 intend to have
mine. Have they ever paid their attorney that
they employed ? No! they think he is rich and
can do without it, and Rhodes is poor, and they
can swindle him out of his fees. Now there is
hut little difierence between your cases and mine,
mine is ten days imprisonment more than yours,
which I <lo not intend to bear, lean employ an
attorney to attend to the business better than you
‘have, where he will get Ills fees; ami 1 will get
: mine that is behind, for 1 intend to have my full
j cost. 1 know who they are that is owing cost,
I ami they that owe it know as well as 1 do. ami
I they would do well to pay it before an execution
! comes after them for it. 1 also w ell know who it
1 is that give their slaves privilege of hiring their
! own time, ami 1 have sufficient proof.aud mean to
j try the project next Superior Court ; I shall take
; every one indiscriminately, and tliev must take it
as well as they can, I expect they will think very
| strange of this, that I have quit bringing their
| slaves to court for trial, and bring the' owners in
stead of the slave's, hut I can tell my reasons for

ment) without having poor Rhodes dragging them
up to court for trial ; ami after trial, in less than
one week, they are buying their meats, and tbev
will buy a small bit to-day, and steal twice as much
next day, they will buy a chicken from a friend
Friday night, and Saturday night they will steal
a pig from another person’; you who’are letting
slaves do that way, may watch them, for I intend

resented to me that the said YOUN has fled
from justice, I have thought proper to issue
this, my Proclamation, hereby offering a re
ward of TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS to
any person, or persons, who may apprehend and
i deliver the said Allen Yoon to the Sheriff or
I Jailor of said county ofTelfair; and I do more
j over charge and require all officers, civil and
military, in this State, to be vigilant in en
deavoring to apprehend and deliver him as
