correct list except the judges and
they will not know until the day the
contest closes. Another thing the
more there are in the contest the
more apt you are to win if you
knuckle down and study the picture.
The contest will not close until
the night of April 10th, and you
have plenty of time to work on the
picture. A number of contestants
have already sent in their list of
words, however, if you And addition
al words you can send them in and
they will be added to your list, that
is if ydu get them to us before A
o’clock on April 10th.
Some one is going to win these
prizes and every person in Cherokee
has just as good chance as the other
fellow. If you need additional pic
tures send for them and we will be
glad to help you all possible.
IN MEMORIAM
One hour before low twelve on the
night of Feb. 13th, 1922 when there
were no designs on the trestle board,
the Grand Master of the Universe
called our brother, Adolphus N. Mc
Clure, from labor to refreshment.
On December 18th 1874 he was
raised from a dead level to a living
perpendiculur by Sixes Lodge, and
received the unwritten word of a
Master Mason, from his father, the
late Rev. C. M. McClure, who at that
time was Worshipful Master of said
Lodge.
For over Forty-seven years Bro.
McClure, lived among* us, an honest
man among men an upwright shaft
among Masons, and a conscientious
Christian, demonstrating in his daily
life three of the cardinal tenets of
our order: Faith, Hope and Love.
Judge Sibley of the Northern Dis
trict of Georgia, will speak in Can
ton next Sunday evening at 2:30
School auditorium. Judge Sibley
will speak to the members and visit
ors of the Cherokee County Mens
Cooperative Association.
Judge Sibley is well known
throughout North Georgia, and the
Cooperative Association is to be con
gratulated in securing such a promi
nent Georgian to address their body.
The citiiens of Cherokee are in
vited to be present and hear this able
address. It is also desired that all
members that possibly can be pres

The birthday party given by Miss
Pauline and Irene Poafrson was en-
yojed by all present.
We are glad to have Miss Geor
gia Cloud back with us Rhe has been
away teaching.
Mrs. Lelah Crow is very sick at
this writing with pheumonia, we
hope she will soon recover.
Mr. Luther Lacy is very sick at
present we hope for him a speedy
recovery.

FIRST
We have thru’ committee examin
ed the books of the various County
Offices, the dockets of the Justices
of the Peace and find the same neat
ly and correctly kept, in no far as we
have been able to determine. We
have also, thru’ our committee Visit
ed the Paupers Home, the Jail and
made a generalwinspection of the
Court House ana we And the old
folks of the home seemingly, happy
and content, and the home being
well kept. We beg to report also

dition and congratulate Mr. and
Mrs. Blackwall upon their excellent

SECOND.
We have received the reports
as the law directs from various of-

disbursements for the County for
the past year and extend our hearty
congratulations to the Finance Com
mittee for the able manner in which
they present the financial repdrt.
THIRD.
We elect Dr. T. W. West i
member of the County Board of
Education to succeed Mr. W. H. Al
len, resigned. We also elect Mr. P.
B. Latimer to succeed himself as the
member of the County Finance Com
mittee.
, FOURTH .
We have received a list of names
of those who has paid special taxes
to our Tax Collector, which list is
hereto attached.
FIFTH.
We have examined and approved
the accounts for Expenditures for
Office Supplies of the Commissioner
of Roads and Revenue Tax Collec
tor, Ordinary and Clerk whose ac
counts are hereto attached. We have
also approved the account of Muck
Sandow, as Clerk for extra services
for the year 1921, which said ac
count is hereto attached.
SIXTH.
We recommend that our Commis
sioner, pay the telephone accounts
for the telephone installed in the
Court House, Jail and other County
property and also that a telephone
be installed at the Paupers Home.
SEVENTH.
We also recommend that one-half
of the County funds be kept on sav
ing account, or time certificate and
the interest aecured on said certifi
cate to be used for the up-keep of
the Paupers Home.
