REED’S PATENT CHRONOMETER
ENGIN E.
ffl HiS is an improved Steam Engine, for which
JSL Leto-rs l’ai were granted to John A. Reed,
of New York. January y, i ?55. The nature of this
Improveui. u. consis.s of the increase of power
about 2 per cent, and reducing the weight of the
Engine one-half. The saving of fuel is effected by
letting the - on in on both sides of the cylinder;
doubling the size of the port, anu balancing the
pressme, rem rang the friction and weightwf the
slide valves, eccentrics, cross heads, connecting
rods. A. The exceeding simplicity of tins Engine,
renders it much more durable and easily managed
than any other, and when placed upon the boiler
with wheels it is portable though effective.
These Engines received the First Prize Medal at
the great Exhibition in Paris. There are about
Seventy-five of them now in opernrn n, all giving
great satisfaction.

AH MCA LINS.HUNT, FOR BURNS,
: -2 » &c.—A supply ol'this very desirable article,
, iv-,,1 n should be kept in every familv) ready for
use, may be obtained at the City Drug Store, where
it is for sale at only 50 cents per bottle. Having
I been burnt severely myself with Burning Fluid, 1
tried every remedy proposed by my friends, but
found, from experience, they were no go. On using
the Arnica Liniment, as per directions, it afforded
| immediatt relief. I therefore can speak from ex
; perienee. This invaluable oleaginous Linnment
| acts like magic, in removing the most acute pain,
| hy Burns, and seldom requires more than two or
I three applications to relieve and cure those of a
j s eyere character, either from Burning Fluid, Cani

only by myself, and having tried its efficiency, be
lieve it is the best remedy that can be used, when

Gangrene, Rheumatism, and a vast variety of other
i diseases are speedily and perfectly cured by the use

Read the fvUou tny Certificate:
Tallapoosa Co., Ala., Jan. 2, 1855.
Dear Sir—l send you this to certify to you that
: your Extract of Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla lias
performed one of the most wonderful cures on me
j that has ever been effected on man.
I have been afflicted for forty years with erup
, tions on my legs and feet; in ls-lh they got so bad
I that 1 had to go on crutches, and in 184 S 1 had one
leg amputated above the knee. In about nine
t months after my other leg broke out in large eating
and running sores, from mv knee to my foot, and
discharged a great deal of’ offensive matter. My
groin also broke out in large biles, which diseharg
j ed much offensive matter, and at the same time my
i left band broke out in large running sores nearly
: to my elbow.
The misery that I have suffered for the last two
years, 1 cannot describe to you. I was in such ag
I ony that l never rested day or night.
In October last, my son brought me or.e of your
i bottle wrappers; I read it, and found record of some
. wonderful cures performed by your “Extract of
i Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla;’’ I sent and got two
bottles of it, and common; ed taking it. In two
j weeks, to my great astonishment, my sores all be
came easy, and f could sleet) all night, a thing I had
j not done for two years. When l had taken six bot
! ties, io} sores had nearly all healed. My sore got
S well as if by enchantment. 1 have now used in all
eight bottles of your “ Extract of \ allow Dock and
! Sarsaparilla,” and I now consider mysel well.
I entreat all of tin* afflicted to try this medicine,
I for 1 believe it will cure anv knowu disease in the
world. Lay aside all prejudice and just try it, and
] proclaim its great worth to suffering mankind, and
j entreat them to take it, for it will cure them.
My case is well known in a large portion of South
Carolina, L ■<-rg:a and Alabama, and if any should
j doubt the above cure, 1 invite them to call on me, 1
! and I will show them the scars. I can be found in !
1 Tallepoosu county, Ala.,one mile from Fcrrv.
BENAJAH HUGHES.'
The Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla is peculiarly
' adapted for females of delicate health, resulting
j from irregularity of menstrual discharges, and nth
;er diseases peculiar to their sex. The proprietor
lias in his possession a great number of certificates
of cures performed, of the above description. We
assure die afflicted, that a bottle or two of Dr. Guv
sott's Extract of Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla will
at once regulate those difficulties, and'renow the
natural energies.
