By comparing the freight tariffs of this line with
tl. >se of the South Carolina, and Central, aud

v. r’of this route of from Su to 50 percent., gener
al :v, and in some instances a greater per ceiuage.
By this route a merchant receives ea< 0 shipment
of his Goods together; they are not rc‘ tiled bv

with the seaboard, with a list of chat; .I'tachoa
to each package.
In addition to the present force of this line, an
oiher new Boat, of light draught of water, will be
added during the coming summer. These boats
will leave Savannah after the discharge of the New
Y rk and Philadelphia Steamships, twice or three
ti ues a week, delivering those Goods at this point
in FIVE DAYS.
From the present low tariff of this lino a deduc
tion of per cent, will be allowed on all bills
from this date. Give the river more business, and
a cheaper freight yet awaits you.
All good* from the seaboard should be directed
to M. A. COHEN, Savannah,

REED’S PATENT CHRONOMETER
ENGINE.
This is an improved Steam Engine, for which i
Letters Patent were granted to John A. Reed, 1
of New Y ork, January 9,1855. The nature of this
Improvement consists of the increase of power j
about 20 per cent, and reducing the weight of the j
Engine one-half. The saving of fuel is effected by j
letting the steam in on both sides of the cylinder; |
doubling the size of the port, and balancing the
pressure, removing the friction and weight of the
slide valves, eccentrics, cross heads, connecting
rods, Ac. The exceeding simplicity of this Engine, |
renders it much more durable and easily managed \
than any other, and when placed upon the boiler j
with wheels it is portable though effective.
These Engines received the First Prize Medal at
the great Exhibition in Paris. There are about
Seventy-five of them now in operation, all giving !
great satisfaction.

GUYSOTTS YELLOW DOCK AND
SARSAPARILLA.
IS now put up in the largest sized bottles, and is
acknowledged to be the best Sarsaparilla made,
as is certified bv the wonderful cures it has per
formed, the original copies of which are in the pos-
I session of the proprietor. Remember, this is the
; only true and original article.
Scrofula, Syphilis, Mercurial Complaints, Cancer,
Gangrene, Rheumatism, and a vast variety of other
; diseases are speedily and perfectly cured by the use
1 of this medicine.
Head the following Certificate:
Tallapoosa Co., Ala., Jan. 2, 1855.
Dear Sir — I send you this to certify to you that
your Extract of \ ellow Dock and Sarsaparilla has
performed one of the most wonderful cures on me
that has ever been effected on man.
1 have been afflicted for forty years'witb erup
tions on mv legs and feet; in 1848 they got so bad
that I had t'o go on crutches, and in 1848 I had one
leg amputated above the knee. In about nine
months after my other leg broke out in large eating
and running sores, from mv knee to my foot, and
discharged a great deal of offensive matter. My
groin also broke out in large biles, which diseharg
ed much offensive matter, and at the same time my
left hand broke out in large running sores nearly
to my elbow.
The misery that I have suffered for the last two
years. I cannot describe to you. I was in such ag
iinv that I never rested day or night.
In October last, my son brought me one of your
bottle wrappers; I read it, a id found record of some
wonderful cures performed by vour “Extract of
i Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla;” 1 sent and got two
1 bottles of it, and commenced taking it. In two !
' weeks, to my great astonishment, my sores all be- f
| came easy, and 1 could sleep all night, a thing I had
i not done for two years. When I had taken six bot-
S ties, mv sores had nearly all healed. My sore got
well us if by enchantment. I have now used in all
eight bottles of your “Extract of Yellow Dock and i
Sarsaparilla,” and I now consider mysel well.
I entreat all of the afflicted to try this medicine,
for I believe it will cure any known disease in the
j world. Lay aside all prejudice and just try it, and
proclaim its great worth to suffering mankind, and
entreat them to take it, for it will cure them.
My case is well known in a large portion of Sonth
Carolina, Georgia and Alabama, and if any should ,
! doubt the above cure, I invite them to call on me,
and I will show them the scars. I can be found in i
Tallepoosa county - , Ala., one mile from Stoe’s Ferry
BEXAJAH HUGHES.
The Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla is peculiarly
] adapted for females of delicate health, resulting I
from irregularity - of menstrual discharges, and oth
er diseases peculiar to their sex. The proprietor
has in his possession a great number of certificates
of cures performed, of the above description. We
assure the afflicted, that a bottle or two of Dr. Guv
sott's Extract of Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla will
! at once regulate those difficulties, and.renew the
| natural energies.

in other words, a congestion takes place, giving pain to
a greater or less extent Here, then, is the beginning
of diseased action, which, it not relieved, will soon tun
into inflammation and the disease becomes established
Diseased action being once established, the blood be
comes impure, and the regularity of action on the oart
of the Liver/6ki . Rowels, <Yc . is sure to be interrm-t.
ed and the general system, by sympathising with th*
local complaint, becomes involved in the difficulty. That
this is the true state of the case, let any one call to mrd
hifl symptoms on catching cold. The local difficulty m&v
be a sore throat, which is a congestion of the blood,
amounting (someth' es) to an inflammation about the
throat, owing to a previous deranged state of the cir
culation. and he will remember that his bowels become
costive, his liver deranged, or his skin dry, and his blood
impure Had he used Radway’s Ready Relief when the
congestion was setting in.as an application to the throat
and swallowed a dose of the Regulators, he would have
broken up the congestion, and restored the regularity
ou the part of the liver, skin, bowels, See . which had
been broken in upon by the effects of the sore throat
Regularity being again established, the impure blood in
soon purified, and the circulation again equalized, ana
the health restored.

This preparation is getting into use all over the

our various agents, informing us of cures effected

Druggists, dealers in Medicines, and Physicians
can testify. Ask the Agent in yutr nearest town,
what has been his experience of the effects of this
medicine. If he has been selling it for am length
of time, he will tell you it is the Dost Medicine os
taut.
Below we give a few extracts from letters iw
have received lately regardin'' the virtues of this
Medicine:
Dr. S. 8. Oslin, of Knoxville, Ga., says: i have
been using your Liverwort and Tar verv extensiv,
ly in my practice for three years past, and it is with
pleasure 1 state mv belief in its superiority overall
other articles with which 1 am acquainted,
which it is recommended.
Messrs. Fitzgerald A Benners, writing front
W ayncsville, N. C., say: “The Liverwort and Is:
is becoming daily more popular in this country
and we think justly so. AH who have tried it
sneak in commendable terms of it, and say it is
very beneficial in alleviating the complaints for
which it is recommended.”
Our Agent in Pickens District, S. (’., Mr. 8. !>'
McFall, assures us " that he uses it with great ben
efit in his own family, and recommends it to hU
neighbors.” He gives an instance of a Negro w" -
man, iu iiis vicinity, who hail been suffering with
disease of the Lungs for years, attended with - 1
\ ere cough, who was relieved bv the Liverwort A
Tar.
