GRANGERS’ MAGIC CORN AND COB
AND MEAL MILL,
Patented September 18, 1855.
Oirftnhj, Whyt? d* Co., Sole Agents, Augusta, Ga.
ill PRESSED with the entire superiority of
. this celebrated Mill, over all others for like
(im poses, we feel justified in presenting it to the
public, as being all that can be consistently de
sired.
Possessed ol all the advantages which are so
palpably secured by the inner cone instead of the
outer, being a fixture, while the outer cone, (or
shell) revolves; of being regulated in its feed bv
a single nut; of utter simplicity and accurate cori
-truction, these Mills present yet another, and u
-mvaluable /uttur,, to which public attention
is KjKi uiUy ianted — and which we believe renders
it totally superior to any Mill extant—to w it : the
rollers, (which are adjustable, and the principle
claim under the Patent) employed on the periphery
of the revolving or outer cone* at its base.
These rollers (interdicted in other machines)
when once adjusted serve to keep the cones, tinder
all circumstances, cqui-distant on every side (no
matter how often the change of feed), and utterly
prevent the oseilating, or rocking motion other
wise incident to the revolving cone, and insepara
ble from the moving cones of othei Mills.
As among the incalculable advantages of this
arrangement, we suggest that there can be no
crowding of the feed on any one side of the Mill
more than another, which in other Mills often
brings in urinal contact the sides of the Mill oppo- j
site In that excessively crowded, while it untucas- i
urably increases the resistance to the moving |
power. Again, while the yield is of more uniform !
consistency, the cones may be brought almost to- i
get her, without danger of actual contact when in !
operation i the result oftentimes of the rocking, i
or vibratory motion in other Mills, i as the rollers :
serve to preserve, under all circumstances, the re- I
lative distance of the, cones from each other. Titus j
■be very finest material may be ground without j
the danger of actual contact between the cones; ■
without the wear and tear incident to this contact; I
and without the increased and irregular resistance j
caused by this contact advantages which every |
i .•Heeling mind w ill agree, cannot he over estiimi j
ted, and which stamp this Mill incomjuinMy tin.
■' Specimens of the grinding of this
Mill maybe seen, ot meal, shelled oats and rye,
which cannot be surpassed by the best Burr
Stones. A a recent public experiment, n single
horse ground at the rate of lifleen bushels ot mu
ferial from shelled corn, to the hour, of which
more than one-lourth was meal, passed through a
No. IS sieve the balance lmminy and stock
Iced in equal parts. A small pony worked w ith
an ■* , foot lever, a No. •_> Mill, grinding eight to
felt bushels to tin* hour, without difficulty. The j
■ .an ami c..b ground together, exhibited beautiful !
specimens ol stock teed, which every true econo- !
mist should employ, even where there are but |
three or four animals to supply.
'1 in* capacity ol the Magic depends, in a measure, !
oil the kind and on the quality of the material
ground.
No. 1, . designed more especially for family use,
or verv small farms, i will grind from three to live
bushels per hour. No. *J, from live to ten bushels, j
No. -, from ten to tifieen bushels.
The public, (within the territory of the under- I
>ig:»ed, i will be supplied through Agents, at the
different principal tow ns within our limits, at the !
following uniform scale of prices:
For No. 1 St:, oo

MELL’S PATENT PLOW STOCK!
' JNil E undersigned has invented and patented j
a a most valuable improvement in the PLOW
STOCK the county rights for which he desires to
sell. He prefers to let others speak its praise, aud
therefore inti '>dticca the following certificates, i■, mi
two planters, well aud favorably known in the
community iu which they reside. He might in
troduce many others, but the Plow Stock will
speak for itself whenever examined.
JAMES B ML Li.
Rieebort)’. Libor)v county Ga
I
This is to certify that I hut e, with my own hands,
thoroughly tested the newly invented Plow Stock
of James B. Moll, Esq. In point of simplicity and
perfection, 1 have novel seen or used its equal. In
it is combined every thing that I could wish in a
Plow Stock, and it, in tin opinion, is the cheapest
and the best that lias ever been olli red to the pub
lic. I s[M-ak from having used tt vvitl: mv own
band-. I was raised to follow the plow, and think
that 1 know how one ought to run. I would cheer
fully thank any one, who will thoroughly try it, to
point out to me one single fault in it. It i ea.-iet
upon the horse and the plowman than any that I
have ever used.
Tlie principle upon which vim regulate the depth
of the Plow is so simple, and yet so perfect, as to
commend itself to any one; and the Stock is adapt
ed to any kind of Plow Hoe. It is, moreover, just
as light as any could desire it to be. i would re
commend to any and all, if they wish Hie best and !
cheapest Plow Stock, without hesitation to get Mr.
James B. Moll’s. D. !V. Wn.sox.
Pentield, Ga., April 15, 1 Sst>.
In company with several others. I, this day, wit
nessed the trial of Mr. James B. Midi’s Plow Stock,
by Mr. D. W. Wilson, and cheerfully state that all
present were fully satisfied that it does everything
as stated above. 1 would, moreover, state that 1
have been using them on my farm for several
months, and everyday serves to confirm me in the
opinion of the superiority of Mr. Moll's Plow Slock
to all others now in use. Thomas P. Janes.
