GRANGERS’ MAGIC CORN AND COB
AND MEAL MILL,
Patented September 18, 1855.
I lirardey, Whyte dr Co., Sole Agent*, Augusta, Ga.
J.III’RESSED with the entire superiority ol
■■ this celebrated Mill, over all others for like
purposes, we feel justified in presenting it to the
public, as being all that can be consistently de
sired.
Possessed of all the advantages which are so
palpably secured by the inner cone instead of the
outer, being a fixture, while the outer cone, (or
shell revolves; of being regulated in its feed by
a singte nut; of litter simplicity and accurate con
struction, these Mills present yet another, and a
most invaluable feature, to which public attention
is es/niiali,/ in< it,4 —and which we believe renders
it totally superior to any Mill extant—to-wit: the
rollers, which are adjustable, and 1 lie principle
claim under the Patent i employed on the periphery
of the revolving or outer cone, at its base.
These rollers (interdicted in other machines)
when once adjusted serve to keep the cones, under
all circumstances, equi-distant on every side (no
flatter how often the change of feed), and utterly
prevent the oseilating, or rocking motion other
wise incident to the revolving cone, and insepara
ble from the moving cones of otliei Mills.
As among the incalculable advantages of this
arrangement, we suggest that there can be no
crowding of the feed on any one side of the Mill
more than another, which in other Mills often
brings in actual contact the sides of the Mill oppo
site to that excessively crowded, while it immeas
urably increases the resistance to the moving
power. Again, while the yield is of more, uniform
consistency, the cones may be brought almost to
gether, without danger of actual contact when in
operation the result oftentimes of the rocking,
or vibratory motion in other Mills,! as the rollers
serve to preserve, under all ciicumstances, the re
lative distance of the cones from each other. Thus
ihe very finest material may be ground without
the danger of actual contact between ihe cones;
without the wear and tear incident to this contact;
and without the increased and irregular resistance
caused by this contact advantages which every
reflecting mind will agree, cannot be over estima
ted, and which slump this Mill hic’inpavuhly the
■tinmen ! Specimens of the grinding of this
Mill may be seen, of meal, shelled oats and rye,
which cannot be surpassed by the best Burr
Stones. A a recent public experiment, a single
horse ground at the rate of fifteen bushels ot ma
terial from shelled corn, to the hour, of which '
more than oue-fourth was meal, passed through a i
No. Is sieve- the balance hominy and slock
feed in equal parts. A small pony worked with !
an s' , foot lever, a No. 2 Mill, grinding eight to
ten bushels to the hour, without difficulty. The i
corn and eob ground together, exhibited beautiful
specimens ot stock feed, which every true econo- j
mist should employ, even where there are but i
three or four animals to supply.
The capacity of the Magic depends, in a measure, |
■nthe kind and on the quality of the material
ground.
No. 1, (designed more especially for family use, I
or very small farms, l will grind from three to five ,
bushels per hour. No. 2, from five to ten bushels, i
No. 3, from ten to fifteen bushels.
The public, (within the territory of the under- j
signed,) will be supplied through Agents, at the !
ditlerent principal towns within our limits, at the j
following uniform scale of prices:

A RNICA LINIMENT, FOR BURNS,
A &c. A supply of this very desirable article, |
■ which should be kept in every family) ready for j
use, may be obtained at the City Drugstore, where j
it is for sale at only no cents per bottle. Having *
been burnt severely myself with Burning Fluid, I j
tried every remedy proposed by my friends, but !
found, from experience, they were no on. On using !
the Arnica Liniment, as per directions, il afforded I
immediate relief. I therefore can speak from ex- j
pcricnee. This invaluable oleaginous Linament j
acts like magic, in removing the most acute pain, !
by Burns, and seldom requires more than tw o or
iliree applications to relieve and cure those of a
severe character, either from Burning Fluid, Cain
pliine, J’owderor Fire. This article is prepared
only by myself, aud having tried its efficiency, be
lieve it is the best remedy that can be used, when

* MELL'S PATENT PLOW STOCK !
78411 F. undersigned has invented and patented
® a most valuable improvement in the PLOW
STOCK -the county rights for which he desires to i
sell, lie prefers to let others speak its praise, and i
therefore introduces the following certificates, from j
two planters, well and favorably known in the j
community in which they reside. He might in
troduce many others, but the Plow Stock will
speak for itself whenever examined.
JAMES B. MEI.L.
Kiceboro’, Liberty county, Ga.
This is to certify that ! have, with my own hands,
thoroughly tested the newly invented Plow Slock
of James B. Moll, Esq. 11l point of simplicity and j
perfection, 1 have never seen or used its equal. In j
it is combined every thing that 1 could wish in n J
Plow Stock, and it, in my opinion, is the cheapest j
and the best that lias ever been offered to the pub- ;
lie. 1 speak from having used it, with my own j
bands, t was raised to follow the plow, and think ;
that I know liovv one ought to run. t would cheer- j
fully thank any one, who will thoroughly try it, to !
point out to me one single fault iu it. it is easier i
upon the horse and the plowman than any that 1 |
have ever used.
The principle upon which you regulate tlie depth i
of the Plow- is so simple, and yet so perfect, as to j
commend itself to any one; and the Stock is adapt- i
ed to any kind of Plow Hoc. It is, moreover, just ■
us light as anv could desire it to he. I would re- !
commend to any and all, if they wish the best and j
cheapest Plow Stock, without hesitation to get Mr.
James 1!. Midi's. D. \Y. Wilson.
Pcnfield, Ga., April 15, 1850.
In companv with several others, 1, this dav, wit- i
nessed the trial of Mr. James B. Moll’s Plow Stock, i
by Mr. D. W. Wilson, and cheerfully state that all j
present were fully satisfied that it does everything !
as stated above. 1 would, moreover, state that 1 !
have been using them on my farm for several
months, and every day serves to confirm me in the
opinion of the superiority of Mr. Midi’s Plow Stock
to all others now in use. Thomas I’. Jaxks.
