An extract of a letter from a
lieutenant in the United States’
navy, of the first respectability,
received by Monday’s mail, says
“I have just received orders’- to
join the Macedonian, (now a
Boston) with all possible de
patch,—She is under orders tc

there by the Spanish govern
ment.
“ From the view I have taken
of this expedition, connected with
other circumstances known to me,
I feel strongly impressed with a
belief, that awfir with Spain is not *
