So soon as ar rangements can be made for the ptsrpose the Centinel will be published on ah enlarged sheet. 2. The terms of subscription will be Three Dollars per annum, one half to be paid at the ijme of subscribing, and the ballance at the expiration of the year. 3. No subscription will be received for a less term than six months, and all subscribers papers will be continued from year to year, unless ordered to the reverse at the expira tion of the year, or six months. .Advertisements will be charged sixty three cents per square for the first publica tion, and forty-two f«r each succeeding, and in the same proportion for those of greater length. The Centinel will continue to be sent by th e present proprietor to former subscribers, un" less otherwise directed. All those who con tinue until the 15th of September next, will be considered as regular subscribers. No paper will be discontinued until all arrear ages are paid. Mr. Samuel Lark and himself have lately purchased the above stand, which is one of the most central in this city for business. They have commenced such improvements as will make it equal to any establish ment of kind in the Southern States, and assure the public that their LAR DER and BAR shall be as well filled as the country can afford, or their exer tions provide: Their STABLES are large, commodious and airy, and are attended by an experienced and care ful OSTLER. Sportsmen, pay up. SUCH subscribers to the Augusta Jockey Club and Cherokee Ponds, South-Carolina, races, as have neglect ed to pay up their respective subscrip tions for the last races at those places, are informed for the last time, that unless they come forward and make payments by the first day of October next, they will positively be sued for the same without any discrimination ol persons whatever. The subscription lists of ihe above Clubs are placed in the hands of Mr. Benjamin Pierce, the City Marshal of Augusta, for collec tion—-He is authorised to receive pay ment’s and give receipts to such as may avail themselves of this notice ; as well as to collect by law all sums that may remain due after the above time has expired. WHEREAS by the Act, entitled “An Act making appropria tions for carrying into effect the treaty between the United States and the Chickasaw tribe of Indians, and to es tablish a Land Office in the Missisippi Territory, “it was enacted,” that it shall be the duty of the Surveyor Gen eral of the Public Lands in the Missi sippi Territory, so much of the Lands ceded to the United States by the Che rokees and Chickasaws as lies within the said Territory ; and the President of the United States, is hereby autho rised, whenever he shall think it proper, to establish a Land Office for the sale of said lands.” WHEREFORE,I, JAMES MADI SON, President of the United States, in conformity with the provisions of the act before recited, do hereby declare and make known, that sales for the pub lic lands in the county of Madispn, Missisippi Territory, which have been ceded to the United States by the Che rokees and Chickasaws, and are boun ded north by the southern boundary of the State of Tennessee, eastvvardly by the lands of the Cberokees, westwardly by the lands of the Chie kasaws, and ter minating southwardly on the Tennessee river, shall be held at Nashville, in the state of Tennessee, to commenc# on the first Monday of August, one thou sand eight hundrtd and nine, and to continue for and during the three fol owing weeks. I HAVE lately removed to this place, and shall for the future con tinue my Practice in this District, and in Barnwell, as well as in the courts of Equity of Orangeburg and Ninety-Six Districts, and in Columbia County and also in Richmond County, Georgia, when the Carolina courts do not inter fere.— Mr. William Jones, at Colum bia Court-hou6e, and Mr. James R. Vince, at Barnwell, keep myofficesat those places respectively ; and that at Town Creek is still kept up, where ap plications personal, or by letter, by mail will be attended to. On special cases I will attend any other courts con venient, not clashing with the above. For information of my clients and oth ers, the above courts meet as under: Barnwell, the 3d Monday in Octo ber and March. Edgefield, the 4th Monday in those months. Columbia County, Georgia, the 4th Monday of August and February. The court of Equity, at Orangeburg the Ist Monday in February an dJune. The court of Equity, at Abbeville, for Ninety-Six District, on the 2d Mon day in February and June. The Constitutional court, and the court of Appeals in Equity, at Colum bia, South-Carolina, on the 2d Tuesday next after the 3d Monday next, after the 4th Monday in October, and March in each year. RUNAWAY from the subscriber, on the 2d instant, a Negro Wo man named DIANNA, about five feet eleven inches high, very black complex ion, rather slender made, and about thirty-five years of age, (her dress not known) she carried with her a variety ofcloathing, and generally dresses well; sheis so well known in this city, that a further description is deemed unneces sary; she is no doubt in the vicinity of Augusta, as she has a husband living in the city.
