We think the decision a wise one.
We are glad that our farmers have
seen their way clear to take this
important step. There, are many
reasons why our county should
exhibit to the world the splendid
products of her forests, fields and
gardens. Our minds having been
made up, and this course having
been resolved upon, it is i'npera
tivciy necessary that every farmer,
and others who are not farmers,
should espouse the cause, and
contribute something to make out
showing a grand one—to make
our effort a successful one. and to
place our county among the very
best counties of the State. There
is not a man or woman in our
midst who cannot do something
for the consummation of this de
sirable end, and if every one will
lend a heiping band, we will pre
sent a display of our resources
that will astonish even our own
people. Besides being a source ol
great gratification to us, such a
display will serve as an advertise
ment whose benefits cannot be
welljjovcr estimated. We should
: go into this contest with a deter
mi nation to win, and if every one
will tender his sympathy and co
operation theie need be no doubt
about the result. It will not cost
anything. The railroad million
lies, with the most commendable
liberality,have offered to transport
exhibits to the Fair, and back to
the owners free of charge. Tin
State Agricultural Society, and
tlie railroads have done every
thing in their power to help us.
and to induce us to advertise out
resources, and to show to the
world what we can accomplish.—
Wc should properly appreciate

selves of the rare opportunity' it
offers, us. We can win for Ran
dolph the first prize, and thin
make it the banner county of the
State, aud who is not willing to
strive for such a prominent anil
such nn honorable position for his
native county? Let us resolve to
icin.
It is scarcely necessary to re
mind the committee of the impor
tance of a prompt and full attend
ance at the meeting on the first
Saturday in July. It is especial
ly desirable that a good start be
taken, and that syst* in and intclli
gen co characterize our efforts. In
order to secure the best display:
and one that will embrace a full
and satisfactory exhibit of all ol
our products, it should be under
stood what each man is to con
tribute, so that he may devote his
tune anti attention to that partic
