HUDSON MEMORIAL
PASTOR INSTALLED
Rev. Robert Davenport
Rev. Robert Davenport of
Augusta has been recently
installed as the pastor of the
Hudson Memorial CME
Church.
The church is located at the
corner of East Boundary and
East Taylor Streets. Rev.
Davenport invites all those who
wish to come worship with
him.
Worship services begin at
11:00 AM Sunday Mornings.
LETTER TEA
A Letter Tea will be held at
1009 Eleventh Ave. Sunday
June 10th, at 5 o’clock P.M.
The guest speaker will be Mrs.
Margret Armstrong, a member
of Williams Memorial C.M.E.
Church. The public is invited
to attend. The Tea is sponsored
by the Concerned Mothers
Club. All Proceeds will be used
to further the workof the Club.

CHORUS COMPLETES
SEASON’S WORK
The famed Walker
Baptist Association Chorus has
completed their season’s work.
They will resume their singing
schedule in September by the
Second Sunday night 8:00 at
Gathevenname Baptist Church
of 1973. The Chorus’
engagements since the
beginning of the year have
included:

group is a very unusual.

Registration is now in
progress for Vacation Bible
School at the Antioch Baptist
Church located at the corner of
Florence Street and Augusta
Avenue. Pupils may register
after regular - Sunday Worship
Service. Also on mondays thru
Fridays at the Church’s office
from 12:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M.
throughout June 17,1973.
Please register on time. No
registration will be excepted
after closing date. Fees are

first of its sessions Monday
June 18 at 5 p.m. and continue
for a period of ten days. A
picnic will be included in the
ten day session.

The guest minister for the
occasion will be Rev. A. Leon
Lowery, pastor of Beulah
Baptist Church of Tampa,
Florida. Rev. Lowery is also
the former pastor of
Tabernacle Baptist Church of
Georgia. He served in the
European Theater in World
World II for three years, and
attended the Wortan Technical
School in Wortan, England.
He received the B.S. degree
from Long Island University
and the Doctor of Law, from
Brooklyn Law School. A law
partner in the firm of Kaufman
and Murray, he served as
Assistant District Attorney of
Kings County which includes
Brooklyn.
He was elected Delegate to
the 1964 Democratic National
this city.
The theme for this year’s
program is “Total
Involvement”.
A family dinner will be
served all immediately
following the services.
Convention, and elected
Presidential elector from King’s
County in 1964. Currently
serving as a member of the
Board of Trustees of Mcßurney
Boys School, and the Boys’
Welcome Home, he is a
member of he Board of
Trustees at Syracuse
University.
Judge Murray was appointed
Judge of the Criminal Court of
the City of New York by
Mayor Robert Wagner, and
re-appointed to a full ten year
term by Mayor John Lindsey.
